Don't those signs actually belong to the campaign and NOT the owner? Sure the owner gives permission to place the sign there..BUT as to having them defaced it really isn't destroyer the home owner's property. Just saying.
Comeon give Hawkeye a break. Cops patrol around all day long looking out for the rights of property owners. Concentrating in a small area part of the day to catch an ongoing vandal would be quite acceptable.
In many parts of the US stealing stuff from an open garage would be considered a rather dastardly crime and might well lead to a stake out. In rural areas particularly people don't expect to have to tightly secure everything against thieves. Basically a "neighbors don't rob neigbors" meme.
Yeah, yeah, yeah. I grew up on a farm in a rural area. My parents still live there. They shut the garage doors at night. If they had someone stealing signs out of their yard dad would go out and put them in the garage at night.
They would take personal responsibility for protecting their property and not bother the local sheriff's office to ask for protection from their own carelessness.
Personal responsibility is everyone's job. Without it, we may lose our rights on bigger issues than a friggin sign.
Trump is a moderate democrat claiming to be a conservative. He will do or say anything to get elected. He snowed you all. He's already changing his mind on immigration. And yes he has delusions of god. So how is he any different.
That big business hasn't bought or paid for him like Hillary.

Maybe. It would depend. I collect my signs after every election, at least the ones which haven't been stolen or defaced, because I'm notoriously cheap and will use them again.
Now, when they're stolen or defaced the property owner of where I've placed them files the report
It may not seem like much but if you lose 20 signs costing $25 each you run into having to file campaign finance reports in Maryland. You can spend up to $500/election cycle without having to file.
This is where I differ from most if not all the other posters, I've been the victim of campaign vandalism and voter fraud, which we're told here is nonexistent.
While I agree with most of what you're saying in this thread, inviting someone into your home or onto your property one, or even a handful of times doesn't make them welcome in perpetuity.
It does if they're a vampire. I don't think you've been watching the correct movies.

I stand corrected!
