How do you eat an elephant? ......One bite at a time.

Deport who you can, when you can......but don't let them back in.

(You could start at the Flea Market down the road from me on any given weekend, you could easily fill several buses lol)

Make use of e-verify mandatory and impose stiff penalties on businesses who knowingly employ Illegals.

Impose a heavy tax on money transfers to other counties and fine certain businesses like banks, check cashing services etc. when they are caught catering to Illegals.

End birth right citizenship to children of Illegals.

Deport any Illegal who commits ANY crime IMMEDIATELY....and if they come back, it's a felony.

A multi-faceted approach would be more effective and more practical than a "round them all up" attitude.
Just because you can't do it all at once doesn't mean you shouldn't do it at all.....
Some of what you say is spot on.

Break the law?.......Get convicted and gone.
YUGE penalties for employing illegals.
End birth-right.

But after that, my preference would be to work up the guest worker ID card system, so that those from bordering countries can get in if they wait in line.
I think the total influx of immigrants will decrease and the border will certainly be safer for both law enforcement and civilians.

And I like amnesty provided there is a requirement that people in the country illegally identify themselves and get a proper Social Security number. "Identification" means a background check; no pass, no stay. That way the people who have been here for years and have raised a family who only speaks English will not be deported.
But after the grace period, anyone here illegally will be subject to immediate deportation.

So really, we ain't all that far apart. If we got in a room together and banged on the table we might actually reach a compromise.

OK.
But why would they ever leave when there is no way back in?

Why wouldn't they leave if they have no means to support themselves here? Why would they want to come back to nothing?

No illegals should be rewarded with amnesty, period! We don't need these people. That part seems to escape you. Americans need their jobs back. Do American law breakers get a pass because they have families and speak English? We are miles apart on our views.

Umm, it is called applying. I know it is a hard concept for you to understand because you are used to seeing people walk across the border in broad day light.

One refrain is that you can't deport millions of people because the highways get clogged. Obama brags he has deported 2 million people. How did they go? How many buses does it take to move 2 million people? It takes 40,000 greyhound buses. I am sure CNN would have noticed a convoy that large.

Living in Pittsburgh, I've never understood this line. There aren't many illegal aliens here, yet all jobs seem to get done.
