"North Carolina legislators have approved a proposal to revoke teacher tenure from public school teachers in the state. Katherine Mangu-Ward of the Reason.com blog explains that teachers will no longer qualify for lifetime tenure after 5 years on the job. Instead, those who perform well will be offered 4-year contracts, while those who do not will have to male do with 1- or 2- year agreements.

"Tenure allows teachers to avail themselves to the due process before they can be dismissed. According to Mangu-Ward, this change will finally make it easier for schools to get rid of its chronic under-performers.

"Tenure is not the only thing that will change now that Republican Governor Pat McCrory has put his signature on the state’s budget last week. In addition to the tenure change, teachers will also now lose an automatic pay increases they’ve received in the past for earning a master’s degree."

(My emphasis - more @ the URL)

Hmm, no tenure, no financial incentive to improve professional credentials. Yah, I think there's gonna be lots a' chronic under-performers in NC schools, students, teachers, the ever-reliable Lege ...

In most states, teachers, school nurses, counselors, etc. are required to report suspected sexual abuse, assault, drug abuse, etc. to either school administrators or the competent authorities. NC sounds to me like a very law & order state. We'll have to see what shakes out on this incident.

Although if there is a pattern of intimidation there (by students & teacher & anyone else), it should be fairly easy to interview all the children (classmates), the teacher, teacher's aid(s), counselors, the parents of all the students, & so forth, until you have enough data to make a decision.

When I hear Cair, I usually are very skeptical in believing any accusation they make.

On how to catch a predator (Dateline) a Cair leader was seen to be the sex offender, caught red handed. But we see people from all walks of life's being guilty for these horrific offenses and not just a Cair leader of course.

But we always hear Cair blaming everyone and lately I have heard of many false Muslim abuse and harassment claims that were all found to be fake!

let's be honest, even the "all-muslims-are-bad" crowd have to admit that the little dude is too young to be picked on.

How do you know he was picked on?

I'll tell you what, I will denounce this teacher if you denounce this boy's vile, hateful religion.

Deal? Really, yours is the much more important task. One person occasionally goes over the line and should be denounced, but it is up to you to understand that there are over a billion people in the world practicing a nihilistic "religion" based on hate.

Come on, Muslims have lived in this country for a long time and none of this goes on. It's the monsters from the Middle East who have a different culture and don't assimilate who are the problem.
