What kind of data do you think we're collecting on China with an unmanned sea drone nearly a thousand miles off their coast? This would be like the U.S. capturing a Chinese research vessel off the coast of Honduras and claiming they're spying on us.
Then again, I'm trying to reason with someone who isn't even capable of distinguishing between the threat posed by an unmanned glider and enemy nuclear missiles 90 miles from our coast.

Oops it was a big deal when Cuba wanted to install Soviet missiles.

It was thousands of miles off mainland China, but it was in their claimed water. Yes, the US may not recognize their claim, but it is not as simple as just a random place.

China doesn't get to make unilateral claims on waters a thousand miles off their coast. This was international waters, period, full stop, no qualifications or explanations. Why are you making excuses for China's aggression?

The dispute is between China and neighboring countries, and you have no right to decide.
China has islands in South China Sea too. Can any country send drones to 10 miles off Hawaii? https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Sansha

This glider wasn't 10 miles of the coast of anything except maybe the Philippines. China has no claim on this territory, period. And yes we DO have a right to decide that China does not got to claim one of the most important international shipping corridors on Earth.
A Department of Defense war machine doing "research" in a foreign country's sea... what you think is going to happen? You dang right, China is going to take it apart and steal the technology... China would not steal a "off the shelf" product because if it was truly "off the shelf" it would of been made in CHINA!
The 0bama regime allowed this to happen for obvious reasons.
