Let's stop and recognize that we're talking about Cub Scouts, not Boy Scouts. These are very young children whose parents are involved in all pack activities. Cub Scouts, at least in my experience, is pretty open about who participates, and siblings of both genders join in the fun as they wish. As a Scout leader, I would welcome this young person and see no reason to exclude him.

i find it hilarious that the people who most often take issue with other-ness don't want to accept a person who literally showed up to their thing looking/walking/talking exactly like them.

Naw, you belong there. You're the minority thinker in this thread.

No.

A penis is exactly like a vagina?

Boy Scouts are a private organization. They get to choose who they allow in their group.

Should we be outraged that the Girl Scouts don't let men join?

Men can and do participate in USGSA (Girl Scouts), and here is the organization's policy regarding transgender members...

Quote:
Girl Scouts is proud to be the premiere leadership organization for girls in the country. Placement of transgender youth is handled on a case-by-case basis, with the welfare and best interests of the child and the members of the troop/group in question a top priority. That said, if the child is recognized by the family and school/community as a girl and lives culturally as a girl, then Girl Scouts is an organization that can serve her in a setting that is both emotionally and physically safe.

That's what is wrong with this world we live in. Liberals believe that anyone can be whatever they want to be. A man can be a woman if he identifies as a woman. A woman can be a man if she identifies as a man. Liberal policies are ruining this country.

I identify as a Golden retriever and some dumb a$$ liberal is petting my head.

Agreed. There's no need for argument about what's normal or what's not. The BSA is a private organization, and has the right to exclude anyone they want for any reason they want, the same way that I can choose who to let in my house. If you're unhappy with their politics, find another club for your son to join.

Yes, we should. I have always thought that transgenderism was a mental illness, not a physical one. Wouldn't it be wonderful if a medicine could make these people content, instead of a course of hormones, which cause them to die young, and barbaric surgery?

Prescription hormones are medicine, and they do lead to increased contentment.
