Why would we expect Trumpettes to concentrate on the problems at hand instead of their paranoia.

So...you go about your day to day life constantly worrying about Russia? Or are you getting paid to worry about it? If not, then you have no business calling others "paranoid".
No one is calling for WWIII, but we need to recognize that Russia is a hostile nation that belongs under sanction.
I don't know where you get your information, but I don't believe anyone said that Russia was an "ally." However, neither is Iran, but that didn't stop Barack Obama from making a deal with the Iranian government.
Russia isn't an ally but they had a better plan for Syria than Obama.

No we need our troops out of the Middle East and discontinue our meddling in other countries, at which point our relationship with Russia becomes a non issue.
The fallacy of your premise is that we are just "meddling." If that were so, I might agree with you. However, the Muslim nations of the Middle East seek Israels destruction. Israel is an ally, and they have a right to exist.
There are also others that are being slaughtered by Muslims. Christians and those of other non-Muslim religions. Islam represents a threat to the Western World. There is hardly a nation anywhere in the World that is not currently under threat by Islamists, even as far away as the Philippines. We have seen this before in the history of the World, and the result was the Crusades, which today, so-called "historians" blame on Christians.
