No one is calling for WWIII, but we need to recognize that Russia is a hostile nation that belongs under sanction.
Like Iran?

I know a LOT OF clear thinking liberals who also want a working relationship with the Russians. The last thing they want is a war with them.

Can we PLEASE for a second stop demonizing each other. Left vs right, Trumponosys (whatever that means) vs people like you.

It is not that simple.

Your brave husband was a veteran who passed away, correct? well, I respect him 100%. I don't want to see unnecessary war anymore. Like it or not, admit it or not, we are all in this TOGETHER.

War with the Chinese, war with the Russians, war with middle east. What for? The world hates us, and we are not winning. How about spending money on our own people. Let them handling their own businesses for a change.

Thank you, and yes he was-- and he stood up for freedom and knew who was friendly or who was an ally- I am 64-- many presidents under my belt-
We cannot get into silly wars, but must stand our ground and not be wishy-washy either - The new admin has bi-polar agendas for our country's security- 1)-against the Muslim community- but 2)-pro Russian- it does not work that way. Let time and the investigations indicate who comes in sheep's clothing. Then let's chat about it. There are good people, within those masses- who simply want peace just like you and me.
I do not demonize people-- but call out their foolishness for thinking one man, has all the right answers, I seen how they call him a god.. . BUT- does not even take the advice of his own people, who have been in command and gained their reputation doing good for our country. Who behaves like a 13 yr. old tweeting against those who point his mistakes out or other stupid stuff. who cares---
This is my country- and I am sworn got protect is as well- and we question all loyalties and pull back the curtains to make sure the TOP is willing to take the same shot, as any soldier or person would to defend it.
Until lawful protocols are followed and the Integrity of the Office is established, in a manner fitting of the Presidency of the greatest country in the world- what is on display now is foolishness, and for those that will not call it out but support that mess, --- yea, they are under some spell-

Whether or not Russia is an ally depends on the nature of US geo-political strategy.

If you want to continue on the path of murder, destruction, and the funding of fundamentalist groups, than Russia is not an ally.

For example, it was imperative for the last administration, in particular, your blood thirsty secretary of state, to oust Russia out of Syria to gain complete hegemony in the region, so that the US can continue stealing without obstruction.

Why are we in Syria? Because Assad rejected the petro-dollar. Qatar and Iran share the largest gas field in the world. Qatar, a US ally, approached Assad with a deal where a pipeline would be run from Qatar, through Saudi Arabia, and through Syria, to be offloaded in Turkey and sold in USD.

In contrast, the Iranian's deal would run the pipeline through northern Iraq and offloaded in Syria, with the help of the Russians for development. Assad took this deal. Of course, it is highly unlikely that the product will be sold in USD, which is exactly why the US decided to intervene in Syria.

Additionally, the intention was to remove the Russians from the region, since Russia has a forward operating base in Syria.

It managed to do this two ways. Kerry had a meeting with Saudi's just prior to massive production increases, with the likely intention of destroying Russian's economy. It worked in the sense that the ruble, which is highly correlated to the broad oil index depreciated at roughly the same rate as crude.

Unfortunately, the US underestimated the Russian's resiliency, as the "Russian problem" did not go away. Worse, the dollar is highly inversely correlated with the broad oil index, which means the dollar appreciated in value by roughly the same percentage that crude depreciated.

Why is this important? For one, it makes it more difficult for US exporters to sell their products. Two, the Russians pay their debt in rubles, but they sell oil in USD. What does this mean? It means Russian oil giant Rosneft is profiting, resulting in a record high stock price.

Now, because of the idiotic foreign policy of your last several administrations, and in particular the boneheaded Kerry move, you now have a massive liquidity crises on the horizon due to the inability for your tight oil producers to make a profit. It's not just the approximately $500 billion high yield energy loans at stake, or the entire $1.9 trillion junk bond market, but the trillions of dollars of derivatives designed to mitigate risk, that will actually likely be the catalyst to crashing the entire financial system.

Russia is only your enemy if American's want to continue on the same path to their inevitable destruction by forcing the petro-dollar on the world market. The problem is that if US citizens grow a heart or a brain or whatever they need to grow in order for them to not support murder, eventually the demand for USD will go down, resulting in significant inflation if the US doesn't learn to handle its debt problem.

So yes, Russia is an enemy if you support murder and destruction because you want to continue an unsustainable lifestyle that requires at least 5.5 earth's worth of resources to sustain.

Hey! this forum is not intended for logical discussions

and the left (who seem to support isis) continue to spin that

the PLAN (a military plan) was DESIGNED for MONTHS...Obama didn't sign off on it (he said neither Nay or Yea).... the military planner PRESENTED this plan to the new POTUS, said its a moonless night let's do it... POTUS (trump) said OK

this action was a positive and a negative...the mission was a success in the fact that the main objective was accomplished... it was also a negative that there were more casualties both on the military and civilians than there should have been

but to blame POTUS (Trump) for this plan/action is not exactly correct...yes the buck stops there... but this plan was devised well before Trump took office

I do not get into what happens at war- the best plans fail- because people are moving targets- bad things happen period- sometimes you get the enemy sometimes you do not- and innocents die-- war is nasty- sorry for those casualties- and wish we could put an end to radicals haters of humanity

2 years ago Russia was the sworn enemy of the Right. Now they are following their cult hero's lead and suddenly they consider our enemy for 60 years as a misunderstood country whose example we should follow.

Simply amazing.

What tripe. Answer the question. Why do Democrats and the Left in general want to arm ISIS and other extremist groups? That's the definition of an ally.

You guys can't keep your excuses and jumbled thinking straight. Which is it... Hillary is a coward who let Putin walk all over her or Hillary is a war hawk that would have gotten us into a war with Russia the first chance that she got?
Why is it that for nearly 70 years, Republicans called Democrats soft, Soviet, Red loving, pinko commies, but within the past year, they now consider Russia is our friend and Democrats are warmongering hawks bent on getting us into a war with Russia?
And when Obama wanted to hit the reset button with Russia he was a soft, Soviet, Red loving, pinko commie and Romney was a voice of reason stating that Russia was still our geopolitical adversary.
