But please don't downplay the high risk when you pursue this life. And when you're now married with young children, it's just not the same as being single.
Kind of like riding a motorcycle. When you don't have anyone dependent on you that if you get taken out it is one thing, but you need to rethink your priorities once you're married with kids.
Look, you can get in the car to drive to the supermarket, and not come home. But when you put yourself in a very risky situation(he had been at this a long time) and your life situation changes, you have to weight out the risks and what happens to the ones who are dependent on me.
Go back and read that story....they were intelligence officers, NOT combat troops. NO RAIDS till Agent Orange took over.
You and I have no idea what occurred. Operating under the CIA, the US gov does not need to disclose operations. As we all have found out years later, the US gov does conduct operations under the CIA. This is how the US gov gets around the troop limit count in countries also, by assigning troops to the CIA.
Boots on the ground are boots. You can call them any role you want, and so can the US gov, but fact is they are not there for planning birthday parties, they are there for military operations.
No Obama did not sign off on the mission - that's why didn't happen under him. Obama didn't want to put US boots on the ground in Yemen - esp. for this risky mission (landing 5 miles away for a sneak attack on an armed compound warned by a sudden increase in air activity.).
The mission was approved under the Obama administration, the decision was made to wait until a moonless night.
Apparently while this seal team operation was in progress, the first of Trumps administration, he was not in the situation room but busy tweeting about his next TV appearance.
