Because gang bang murders don't matter either. The average, law abiding, citizen shouldn't be held accountable for anomalies.

They "matter," but shouldn't be included in the inflated statistics.
The Japanese have no trouble offing themselves without guns.

I am not suicidal, but I would not use a gun.

I'm sure the inflated statistics also include justifiable homicides.

Take out gangs, organized crime and anything else you want, home grown murders still exceed terrorism.
