How is it deflection? DJT Jr described the nature of the meeting exactly as everyone else did who filed complaints about the Russian operative's lobbying on behalf of Russia and Putin. She used the exact same appeal regarding Russian Adoptions. DJT Jr disregarded it as nothing he could do anything about, which is correct.

Too bad that's not what the actual meeting was about. It was just another lobbying effort on behalf of Russia and Putin to repeal the Magnitsky Act, using Russian Adoption as the appeal
The question to ask is why Loretta Lynch and the Obama DOJ allowed her to remain in the country without a visa to do so, even after complaints were lodged about her lobbying Congress and the State Department on behalf of Russia and Putin.

donald jr's intention for attending the meeting was to obtain russian documents from russian officials. there is no denying that fact. it's clearly ( almost comically clearly ) stated in the email exchange.
what was/wasn't ultimately discussed ( i don't trust either donald jr or natalia v.'s account ) doesn't change that fact nor does it change the fact that donald jr and multiple spokespeople for the campaign repeatedly lied about the existence of that meeting.

The question posed to him couldn't have been more clear. It looked like it was purposefully phrased to get a future conviction as in a sting operation.
