Keep thumbing your nose at federal law, and you will see federal tanks in your liberal utopia
You mean like Roy Moore faced when he refused to accept the Supreme Court's orders? Or that county clerk in Kentucky who refused to issue same-sex marriage licenses?
Fortunately, we're a long way from federal tanks being used to enforce the laws - contrary to the masturbatory fantasies of some nutty right-wingers.
I'm a strong defender of states rights, whether they are liberal or conservative states, or anywhere in between.

California isn’t required to enforce federal immigration law.
I am not a fan of illegal immigration, and am certainly not a liberal, but you Trump supporters constantly spouting this kind of thing when you have no idea what you’re talking about is absolutely laughable.

I would rep you if I could. States rights only apply to Cult 45 ideologues

Whatever happened to conservatives respecting state sovereignty? Or does that only apply when it comes to oppressing minorities, immigrants, and LGBT Americans?

You're confused. It's you Democrats who have used states rights to oppress brown people. First it was Democrat George Wallace trying to keep the schools segregated. Now it's Democrat Jerry Brown trying to keep the flow of brown slave labor going. He may also be taking advantage of the drug and sex trafficking that goes along with his open borders philosophy.

actually it is
The law that applies to situations where state and federal laws disagree is called the supremacy clause, which is part of article VI of the Constitution. The supremacy clause contains what’s known as the doctrine of pre-emption, which says that the federal government wins in the case of conflicting legislation. Basically, if a federal and state law contradict, then when you’re in the state you can follow the state law, but the feds can decide to stop you. When there is a conflict between a state law and federal law, it is the federal law that prevails. For example, if a federal regulation prohibits the use of medical marijuana, but a state regulation allows it, the federal law prevails. https://www.huffingtonpost.com/lesle...b_4676579.html

In the example you cited, the federal government can enforce the law against marijuana, even in the state that has “legalized” it. However, the state government is not required to, and it would be unconstitutional to require the state to. It would be called commandeering, which is prohibited by the 10th Amendment.
The one thing the federal government could do is cut funding to states that don’t cooperate on immigration, but it could only cut funding closely related to that area (so possibly something like law enforcement funding) and it could only cut a fairly small percentage, or it would be commandeering and unconstitutional.
I can assure you you haven’t the slightest clue what you’re talking about.

I'm not a Democrat ... but the Democrats you speak of later went on to form the nucleus of today's Republican Party starting in the 1960s and 70s. Conservative Southern Democrats became Republicans after the liberal Northern Democrats embraced civil rights.
Today's GOP is the party of the descendants of Jefferson Davis.
Yes, I agree with you OP, and they spend a vast fortune on welfare for the illegals. How can they afford this? Because the rest of the country, IE US taxpayers via government contracts, have indirectly invested a large chunk of our national wealth in California, going back to the 40's . This goes back to the aeronautics industry in WW2, the space program and emerging electronics industry, silicon valley and all the high tech stuff they have. They act like they did it all themselves, but California was not even a liberal state when the seeds of success were planted and they now complain about paying more in taxes to the Fed than they get back. Boo Hoo ! If Microsoft and Apple had decided to spread the wealth equally to other parts of the country by spreading it around a little , California and the west coast as a whole would be more like the rest of the country. They have such a bubble economy going in places like SF, LA ect. The only people that can afford to move there are the illegals, lol.
I agree, they need to make the tech companies farm out those jobs to places like Chicago, St. Louis, Ohio, Michigan, Florida, there are places a lot more needy than California, whom deserve the help more than border invaders.
Microsoft is not based in California. These are American jobs created out of the West Coast. they do not owe the rest of the country anything. Farm the jobs out to other states, many of which are anti-education red states that call people with a college degree "elitists"? Pretty laughable. Let those red states start creating industries of their own. When are we going to end farm subsidies? Trump has let coal pollute once again so Appalachia and the Rust Belt should be all good to go, those coal jobs should be pouring back any day now.
