Most Americans want performance cars and trucks. Not geek-boy electrics.
Agreed.

Tho to be fair: word is a Tesla WILL run side by side with any in production V8 in 2017.

Many countries are doing or considering the same thing. The gas engine car is on borrowed time. It remains to be seen where all the power generation will come from that will be needed to replace energy supplied by fossil fuels for vehicles.

Safety has been a major selling point for automobiles for some time now. Maybe its different in backwardastan where you must live.
I live in Texas. Backwardistan???? How do you know if it makes cars safer? Because the company tells you? Back in Nigeria the government was corrupt and let the Oil Companies do whatever they want, eventually some of them have developed morals but it is too late in the Niger Delta region to develop morals. Same thing with cars luckily the American government isn't corrupt relative to the world. If you think Corporations will tell you their product is dangerous or allow anyone who isn't someone equally as powerful as they are (government), tell you that their product is dangerous then your smoking. How many people died before consumers forced people to realize no seat-belts kill? oh, wait it never happened. How many people for example decided it was immoral for people to own slaves without the government getting involved. Their isn't a place on the planet were slavery just slowly dissipated without the government making it illegal...

I want to eventually get a Tesla. Huge torque puts down tons of power.

And once upon a time, having an automobile, TV and computer in every house was considered an expensive fantasy. Over time they became ubiquitous because they became inexpensive. Same will happen to solar roofs and electric cars. In fact, it's already happening to both.

Why I am not surprised you would say, "the simpleness of the past which is easy?"

I would recommend you get off this internet and live the life you clearly are best suited for.

According to this reasoning we should ban cars because people get into bad wrecks in them, and even get killed.

Sounds good to me. I'm not as concerned about climate change as I am about air pollution. Since France and the UK have also talked about banning internal combustion engines, it's not as far-fetched as some of the slower-minded Americans would think.

The cost of electric cars, and most consumer goods, will skyrocket if internal combustion engines are banned.

It won't happen for another 20 years at least, so don't you worry your pretty little head too much.

True but its what Californians want the let them have at it and we see the effects in Texas and see what we can do. California is a forward moving state, the benefits are if they mess it up, then it affects them and the rest of the country, if they succeed their ahead of everyone else technology wise. This is why the state is so populated and economically superior to most states in the U.S.
