We must do something too many people being killed by speed racers on the road thinking they are the fast and furious , congress is in the pocket of the auto lobby, no one needs a car or motorcycle that goes over 85 mph and for that matter no one needs a "military grade" humvee or jeep with their huge wheels rumbling down the road.
No one needs those in a civilized country with speed laws
Come move to Amish Country. You'd love it. You have to slow down constantly to accommodate the horses and buggies all over the roads.
America and their car fetish, the highest speed limit in the U.S.A is 85 mph you don't need a car that goes faster than that all cars should have a regulator limiting the speed or be banned. Those looking to increase their cars performance and horsepower should be looked at by the government they obviously are a potential menace on the road.
That goes for motorcycles also.....
How about banning drivers that cross the double yellow line while on their devices....more harm than a car exceeding 85mph.
Oh, while we are at it, how about banning intoxicated drivers who kill about 10k a year. We need that law!

Studies have shown that the ideal speed for best mileage and lowest emissions, is 44 mph. Enforce that with electronic monitoring and issue citations by mail. Currently, the average speed driven on my 25 mph residential street, is faster than that. Fines should be $500. for the first violation, $5,000. for the second, ban them from driving for life, with the third. Cops not on emergency calls, should be subject to the same limits.

This varies widely from car to car. Depends heavily on car size and weight, streamlining, frontal area, engine size and compression ratio, transmission ratios and drag, tires, and nearly everything under the sun. You just cited a classic - and useless - "one size fits all".

Oh goody, yet another person who thinks we don't have enough, laws, rules, regulations, and restrictions; and that we need more.

How about we keep working towards cars that get better gas mileage and keep big brother out of our cars.
$5,000 for a speeding ticket? Seriously?
