I'm afraid you're going to have to explain a couple of things here:

  1. Who are you to decree what somebody else "needs"? (Hint: No answer whatsoever that you may attempt to offer will be sufficient to confer that imprimatur upon yourself.)
  2. Where do you live, such that street drag racing is such a pressing problem, whereas it isn't even in the top 100 issues everywhere else? (Hint: You may want to consider relocating.)

And, just in case you hadn't heard, the regulations you seek are already here...today, now.

They are called "speed limits."

See, you can still have your car we're just going to put some "reasonable restrictions" on them to prevent deaths.

Accidental or Intentional they're still preventable deaths.
"Reasonable, common sense restrictions".

That goes for motorcycles also.....
Why?

Are you one of those who hog the left lane and do the maximum instead of moving with traffic?

Don't forget crash ratings, seat belt/air bag regulations, and liability for dangerous car defects.

America's "car culture" anything that can go over 85 mph should be banned or regulated

Let me guess: You were unhappy at the Democrats' complete failure to persuade anybody that the govt needed to pass more legislation to put more regulations and restrictions on guns. So you stepped back and looked around, trying to find something else to restrict and regulate instead. And you decided to pick on cars.

As if they didn't have enough restrictions already.

Right?

the good of the many outweigh the needs of the few. If you want a car that goes over 85 mph you are selfish.

I'll be sure to put that on my priority list.

Right up there with band aids that don't stick and drippy faucets.
