OP is making a very salient comparison to gun grabbers with guns.

Why stop at guns? Let's slow down these fast cars, put training wheels on bikes, and just ban motorcycles entirely. Once we're done with that we can begin targeted regulation of the food and drink that Americans consume. Then we'll regulate their energy use by limiting the size of the house they can own. From there it will be a deliciously smooth glide path into even further regulations down the line.

If anyone reads this and thinks this is just a silly notion then let me just remind you that it's already happening.

DO NOT, I repeat, DO NOT forget chocolate! It has caused many deaths. It needs to be banned.

The OP obviously believes big government is good. I suppose Utopia for the OP would be a world where every tiny aspect of life has already been legislated, with a federal register holding who-knows-how-many trillions of laws and regulations.

Exactly the opposite of Freedom. No thanks.

Yeah! Let's get rid of all regulations! Freedom! MAGA!

  • Let anyone who wants to be an airline pilot be one! No license, physical or background check! Freedom to fly without government interference!
  • Let oil companies and strip miners pollute with no restrictions! Freedom, MAGA!
  • Sell off the national parks to the highest bidder, let them develop them for profit! Freedom!
  • Stop health inspections at restaurants. If people get sick, they'll stop going there and the free market will take care of the rest. Freedom, MAGA!
  • Get rid of government-installed traffic lights. Give people the freedom to negotiate intersections on their own. If you get into an accident it's your own damn fault. Freedom, MAGA!

By the way, we tried laissez-faire unregulated small government in the 1920's. After a brief party of wild excess, it crashed and gave us the Great Depression.

That goes for motorcycles also.....
cars are intended for travel. human deaths are 99.99999999999% accidental.

Guns are intended to kill ....... human deaths are almost all on purpose.

THREAD FAIL.

The line for what we allow will slowly inch it's way toward no freedom at all. Frog in the pot.

If your intellect limits you to snarky and thoughtless responses like this then expect a very small audience.
