Stop lying.
Lying? There's not one within 50 miles of my SIL's house in Missouri. There's not one with 50 miles of Ridgecrest Ca. That told me everything I needed to know so I didn't check any other areas

You don't appear to understand what Medicaid is. (hint) Free healthcare for the poor.

Medicaid in the United States is a social health care program for families and individuals with limited resources. The Health Insurance Association of America describes Medicaid as a "government insurance program for persons of all ages whose income and resources are insufficient to pay for health care".Medicaid is the largest source of funding for medical and health-related services for people with low income in the United States, providing free health insurance to 74 million low-income and disabled people (as of 2017).

Medicaid has been LAW since 1965 - although it is a voluntary program by States. Arizona was the last State to vote to participate in Medicaid.

Now take a deep breath and try not to remain Hysterical ..... I don't recall anyone "dying in the streets" ... except for the Leftist Urban centers like Chicago - now up to 549 Deaths in the streets in 2017.
When it comes to paying out of pocket for healthcare in this country most people's resources are not sufficient. Medicaid doesn't work the way you think it does. It only benefits a very select group of people. Probably 99% of people in any given state don't qualify, regardless of how poor they are.

Frankly, I'm surprised to see so much ignorance in this thread. Too many people reacting emotionally and irrationally simply because they're under-informed.

There's no PPs, either. And it's FAR more likely that in remote areas, a public health department family planning clinic is closer than a PP. PPs generally only locate in larger metro areas.

Good God, no. 23% of the US population is on Medicaid.

My solution is a real solution. Taking other people's money at gunpoint is never moral, just or fair.[/QUOTE]

We all need to pay into the system to get great and affordable healthcare. If you were on your own and got cancer without health care who do you think would pay for it.

$545 BILLION is spent on medicaid and close to 74 million are on medicaid/chip. And that is with some states not reporting all their data.
That's nearly 20% of all Americans. And then we have the illegals.
(medicaid.gov).

What's the proposal for getting ALL to pay? Currently, 23% of the US population is on Medicaid and pays not one thin dime for their free health care.

I spent the summer rehabbing properties I purchased in a midwest state. The amount of people obese was astounding. I would guess 40% morbidly obese. The thin ones are chain smokers.

My issue is I take care of myself. Not perfect but I have never been more than 20 pounds over weight. I am in my 50's now. I don't have diabetes, my cholesterol is normal I exercise daily and try to eat right.

The people I have been observing are already at or nearing all kinds of health problems. I watched numerous people in their 40's using scooters in Walmart because they are too fat walk around the store.

I used to have a plan with a very high deductible that kicked it with a serious medical problem. The other stuff I am fine paying out of pocket.

I would like it if those types of policies came back. Obamacare killed them.

Why should I pay for people who have no self control and are the reason they need special medical care?

I am fine paying for people with people who have an illness that is no fault of their own. But I don't want to pay for people with pre exisiting illnesses that are totally their fault. They need to pay large amounts for their medical insurance or develop self control.

Do you have a problem with the poor being on medicaid. Maybe many should stop having kids they can't afford. Oh, but birth control and abortion is illegal
