What am I doing? taking care of myself and my family. I'm not naive enough to think that by voting or getting people to vote the system that has been in place in Washington for centuries will change. It is what it is.
If this is what you honestly believe, and you want to focus on caring for yourself and your family, then why do you keep posting and complaining here?

After all, according to you, it's hopeless anyway...so what's the point of spending time and energy to complain?

Not necessarily in the same way I don't necessarily think Kim Jong Un is a bad guy either. They both want the best for their countries as long as they are not removed from power. Winch is 100% understandable if you put yourself in their shoes. What I do agree with is that if they could see to the destruction of America they definitely would. So I don't think it's wise to let out guard down, and quickly become buddy buddy with these countries.

Putin is one of the most scheming, underhanded, blood-drenched politicians in the world. He is a propaganda genius who has nearly succeeded in convincing millions of Americans to doubt their country, see Russia in a favorable light and even see Russia as the "good guy" though an absolutely brilliant propaganda campaign spread mostly through alternative media, not to mention his almost unnatural ability to play the part as a wise and level-headed character in front of the camera.

That's not to say our own politicians are any more innocent but naming Vladimir your lord and savior is a VERY bad idea...

LMAOOOO!!!!!! 1 guy who has no control in our media or newspapers or anybody's lives can control the feelings and thoughts of millions of Americas? BHAAAAAAAA!! Darth Putin, he has Sith Lord powers.

My local Pizza delivery boy has more control of my feelings than Putin will ever have.

The only people that for decades have put doubts in our country and system of the economy have been the left in this country. Most of them are in our universities and the ones protesting bashing our system and way of life.

Black Live Matters and the left have divided this nation into racial lines and put doubts in our institutions and they were backed and invited to the W.H. by a sitting President than Putin can ever dream of.

The Putin hysteria and paranoia.

Move to Russia if you love Putin so much. Then loudly complain about the living conditions and political climate. The thugs and secret police will give you a warm welcome.

Laugh if you must, but afterwards go do some actual research on the guy. You might be surprised.

In America, political enemies sit and scowl during meetings and write angry tweets... but Putin's political enemies tend to literally disappear and Putin somehow gets elected every term by overwhelming majority over and over again.

...and when certain alt news sites repeatedly push the same narratives as RT and Sputnik?

Just remember the Deep State doesn't have a monopoly on propaganda. There are many monsters in the deep sea of humanity.

Do you honestly think Putin is a bad guy?

He is the guy behind the curtain at the DNC, so they must like him. The DNC has been doing Putin's work for over a year now. The DNC really should register as a foreign agent entity.

Everyone knows Hillary got more votes than Trump nationally. But the polls weren't only national. They had polls for every state, from the primaries to the very end.

The point was, in states like Pennsylvania, Ohio, Michigan, and Wisconsin, the exit polls taken all day long had put Clinton significantly ahead of Trump. It wasn't until the polling stations closed and started reporting, that it became clear that the exit polls were worthless.

In any case, I don't think even you would make the claim that, if not for supposed irregularities, Putin wouldn't be president. His party completely dominates Russian elections. No other party comes anywhere close.

The second-place Russian party, is literally the communist party.

The only relevant person who isn't allowed to run for office, is Navalny. But Navalny is a complicated situation. He technically broke the law, and was convicted of corruption. Although there is some debate about whether the law should be applied since he may not have realized that his dealings would end up breaking the laws.

In any case, Navalny isn't really a "friend" to the "West". He doesn't like America any more than Putin does. He is a Russian Nationalist. In fact, he is often called a "Russian Donald Trump", because of his right-wing nationalist policies.

I think you are misrepresenting how politics works in practice. You are imagining that Putin has basically unlimited power, who controls Russian media, and can just have people killed at will.

As with all political systems, there is no such thing as dictatorship, or autocracy, or monarchy, or anything else of the sort. Putin is the head of a political party. And that political-party works for the business-interests of the country, to further the "national interests".

In that sense, it is no different than the United States. Except in the United States, the business interests are more united, and have a better control over the media and the discourse.

As I wrote in another thread; In America, words like populism are considered dirty words. We use the term as an insult, and as a criticism of a political candidate.

https://www.britannica.com/topic/populism

Russia hasn't gotten to our level of putting money ahead of everything. Russia hasn't gotten to the point that the business-interests have total control. And so they have to resort to strong-arm tactics.

What Navalny was doing, was shining a light on how much money is made by being politically-connected.

Of course the same basic thing is happening in America as well. Many have complained about how much money people are making at the highest levels of government, but we tend to just shrug our shoulders, and go back to fighting about transgender bathrooms. In Russia, they take it seriously.

In any case, I'm kind of bored arguing with you. You cannot understand that, fundamentally, all governments are the same. Because the same class of people control them all, and they all have the same goals. The means to achieve those ends varies by country as a result of varying circumstances.

Russia can't be like America, because Russia isn't America. It took America more than a century where the vast-majority of the people weren't allowed to vote, a Civil War, a McCarthy era, and America winning two world wars and becoming the world's only superpower, before we got to where we are today.

Russia is a rising power, and is a check on the global hegemony of the United States. If it adopted our system as it is today, the Russian Federation would likely fall apart, and it would turn over all of Eastern Europe to the European Union, and the Middle-East to America.

And why is the European Union spreading across Europe? Or really, why does the European Union exist at all? Money, and geopolitical hegemony. It has nothing to do with rights or freedom.

I mean, why would any sane country even want to be part of the European Union?

I think you need to have a deeper understanding of WHY things are the way they are.

As I constantly say, the world isn't run by freedom and democracy. It is run by money and power. So long as the appearance of freedom and democracy creates more money and more power, they will exist.

The moment there was more money and power in slavery, we would all be slaves. Don't glorify any system without understanding why it actually exists.
