Several Republicans in this thread stated the new map was a Democratic Gerrymander, still waiting on examples of how, which districts, etc....

You can add the 2nd, 3rd, 5th and 7th.

2-1, ok. That still works out to 3 of 8. The 5th is slated to become a majority/minority district when Hoyer finally retires.

as i stated in a previous thread, Maryland is geographically split and that is why there is only 1 republican, where as Pennsylvania is the gop intentionally cracking dems

Maryland is a Gerrymander. There is no reason for the 6th to reach as far into Montgomery as it does. The Western Panhandle isn't large enough to be completely contained in one district, however the way it is drawn is to have its influence completely cracked. The old MD-6 (2002-2012) was a pretty fairly drawn district, and while population should have changed in somewhat, not nearly to the extent it has. With that said in Maryland a fair map would likely be 6-2, so it only really has an impact on one seat. Some of the other states, there are multiple districts in each of them that would flip with a fair map.

Oh.
I guess that explains this statement by the architect of the last redistricting:

Lawsuit forces Maryland Democrats to acknowledge the obvious: Redistricting was motivated by politics - Baltimore Sun

One of the funniest things is how the Democrats held the house in 2008....lost a crap-ton of seats.....and then declared it must be because of gerrymandering.

I seem to recall the Republicans whining about it in 2008, if not gerrymandering then the debunked claims of massive illegal voting etc.

Hey Dems, if you want to win elections here is some simple advice. Attack republican leadership....but stop attacking voters.
I mean seriously, I'd love to see you at least get the house back (or Senate) but you keep calling anyone that disagrees with you or votes for the other party a scumbag racist that is uneducated and stupid.

Do I have to explain voting strategy to you? Because I'm witnessing some of the stupidest people that ever walked the planet p*ss away easy election wins to clowns like Trump and then when you lose do you reflect that perhaps your strategy was bad? No. You double down with more excuses and insults...aimed at voters.

Boy, what is this country coming to when a political party cannot violates the Constitution and ensure their candidates always win???? That can't be what democracy is about!!!

.
they are not gerrymander free... gerrymander free would be by county lines or something near it... not splitting a city in half... that is EXACTLY gerrymandering

but it favors the fascist liberals...so its ok

Can you give an actual specific example of a gerrymander in the new PA map?

I'm not a Republican, but I chime in here.

Are the democrats fighting this new district map?

If not, then it's democratic gerrymander.

There, that was simple.
