The father was allowed to go on national tv with Trump to promote his opinion and views, when those with gun control views were censored and kept out of those meetings. No comments in the Daily Whatever right-wing publications about Trump censoring opposing views, but the kids who organized this global event regarding gun control should give him a platform to oppose the theme of the entire day?
He was also right by Rick Scott's side for photo op bill signing. His voice has been heard plenty by the politicians owned by the NRA.
And I just the same father interviewed on CBS Sunday Morning. He's had plenty of media exposure.
I think they have had more than enough publicity to express their views, and if Trump and Scott are going to censor differing views, why hold teens to a higher standard?
Use? Supporting someone you agree with is not using them. Pointing out when a tragedy occurs due to something preventable you have wanted to fix for years is not “using” that tragedy. Words matter and your need to try to change the narrative to suit your own ends is obvious.
I'm a powerless guy on a internet forum. All I do is call it out for what it is. Nobody has to listen and I can't force anyone to do anything.
They are against freedom of speech and they want to disarm the population. And they are becoming more and more anti Semitic.

No, they're all FOR freedom of speech..... As long as the speech agrees with their ideas. If not it MUST be silenced as hate speech.

There’s another thread about a guy in Florida who claims his neighbor is a shape shifter. He took out his electricity because of a belief “ they” are electrocuting his legs. He was involuntarily admitted for a 72 hr observation under the Baker Act. LE has temporarily confiscated his guns. It will take a court order to hold him longer than 72 hours.
Plenty of posters disagreed with removing this guys guns.
Chances are this guy has a history of Schizophrenic episodes and declines to be medicated, common enough with those on the spectrum.
Since it was changed at the last minute, it might have just been a timing issue.

This angers me the most. Is the message the kids are sending out 100% on point? Of course not. No message ever really is. But they are standing up and speaking out for change. Both sides of the fence (left & right) have opposing viewpoints as to the definition of change. The kids (IMHO) are marching down the middle, and the more recent negativism pointed at them is disgusting.

There were similar negative reactions to Civil Rights Marches. 60 years later there remains people who continue to advocate for segregation.

He wasn't allowed to speak even though it sounds like he was in the line up of speakers.

The shooter posted a picture of himself wearing a MAGA hat. Neither is indicative of everyone who voted for Trump.
On Face the Nation this morning the kid said he had not been invited to speak. Father and son were invited to participate in Trump’s Listening Session. The kid met with Trump and Melania. The kid has met one on one with several Senators.
He and his dad are all about hardening schools with metal detectors and armed guards.
They are understandably disgusted with how FBI and all levels of county government ignored the flags.
Hardening schools is a state/ county/ district issue.

If he was originally going to speak, then it doesn't sound like it had anything to do with him being pro-Trump. He was wearing a Trump shirt the day the shooting happened, its not like organizers just found out today that he was a Trump supporter.
The organizer say he was listed as a speaker, but didnt show up. It's kind of hard to speak at a rally you don't show up to.
There are now three variations of the story.
1) Reportedly said he was taken off the agenda at the last minute
2’ Told Face the Nation he was not invited to speak
3) He was a “no show”.
Dad and his sons were invited to participate in Trump’s Listening Session. Dad made very clear he was all about hardening the schools- metal detectors and armed guards. Dad gave the example of being dsclurted by armed guards when they arrived for the pre- Listening Session meeting at the Dept of Education while anyone can walk into a school.
