And yes, talking to Kim and getting him to he negotiating table is "progress", it's a historical and monumental feat. It's apart of the negotiation process which is going well for Trump AND the country.
Considering the fact that US has negotiated many agreements with NK before, the only historical aspect here was Trump promoting the kid to the level of other heads of states, which is NOT where that murdering lunatic belongs.
It's about more than Kim and Trump. The North Koreans have been in a suspended war mode for centuries with starvation being their main sacrifice. We and our allies have been dodging bombs and threats for years.
Talking is progress. Promise and compromise made is progress. The door is now open to end nuclear threat, fear, starvation and a hostile region. It's farther than any president has been willing to go and sacrifice for the sake of peace and safety in Asia. Sometimes you need to bend a little.
Didn't you learn this is elementary school? Calm down, talk it out, see both sides, compromise, etc. Our bullying, his bullying has had plenty of time to work if was going to it would have by now.
Baloney! Bush actually got a deal. Complete de-nuclearization for some food and fuel oil.
We gave them the food and fuel. Problem is the Kim dynasty does not keep its word.
Kim goes back to Pyongyang with his long-desired photo op, his name next to Trump's on a document meaning nothing, holding on tight to his nuclear weapons and with no scrutiny whatsoever on human rights.
"Human rights" is the new "catch phrase" of the left...what has happened in NK since trump was elected that was not happening in NK prior to trumps election?
Oh, that's right...it's exactly the same...what did Obama due about it? Nothing...
Hell, even susan rice said it's going to take a while....
Quote:
Susan Rice, former ambassador to the United Nations and national security adviser in the Obama administration, says that North Korean denuclearization is not going to be accomplished with "a one-and-done" negotiation between President Trump and North Korean leader Kim Jong Un in the upcoming summit in Singapore. Rice said the best possible outcome for the highly anticipated talks is that the meeting amounts to "more than a photo-op or cordial conversation," with both leaders agreeing to "concrete steps" to craft a framework toward denuclearization.
Never thought I would see the day that good old patriotic conservative Murica loving Murica a would support shaking hands with a dictator who threatened American army bases with missles . A man who sent back an American hostage brain dead. Ronald Regan would roll over in his grave. How a fast talking city sllicker from NY was able to get middle American conservatives to betray their patriotism and values should be studied at ivy leagues for years to come....
I can't believe this is real.
It might be the most honest thing he's said as President, but he's still not being fully honest.
If things go south, he won't say he was wrong, and he won't come up with an excuse, he'll say he was right all along, and despite all the evidence in the world, his supporters will agree.
I honestly think Kim wants to make a deal, so he does have a chance of being right, and i hope he is.
Considering the fact that US has negotiated many agreements with NK before, the only historical aspect here was Trump promoting the kid to the level of other heads of states, which is NOT where that murdering lunatic belongs.
Which others had face to face meetings? This did nothing for NK, sanctions are still in place.....if kim does nothing, then where are we, the same place as before...
