Answer the question... Only 3% of babies have congenital birth defects, so the vast majority of abortions are for the sake of convenience. Many mothers think having a baby or toddler or even an older minor child is inconvenient. Can they kill them, too?
Again, those statistics refer to LIVE BIRTHS! Impossible to know the percent of abortions done for severe fetal abnormalities due to HIPAA laws.
However:
Quote:
The proportion of terminated pregnancies carrying birth defects is considerably greater than the corresponding proportion for pregnancies that end as live births or stillbirths. The proportion of birth defects unobserved at birth due to second-trimester terminations depends on type of defect and lethality.
No, they can’t. The woman has a right to control her own body. Another person has no right to come and do something to that woman without her permission.
A fetus which has not yet reached viability is just a wee bit different from a baby or a toddler.
Not according to fetal homicide laws which charge anyone but the mother and her health care provider with the crime of murder.
If a mother can kill a fetus without facing criminal charges, she can kill any other child, as well. For the sake of convenience, of course.
That's an interesting study, and it's enlightening, but let's not overlook that it was done in Denmark and the results should not be generalized to the United States.
What are you talking about? We are trying to get government out if our reproductive lives. Everyone knows it’s wrong as wrong can be to murder another human being. But for a mother to do it to her own child just because some disfunctional mental misfits say it’s ok?
You do realize that abortion is all about economic class, dont you? The rich and affluent have always had abortions and always will no matter the whims of government. Or are you going to give every woman who crosses state lines or boards an airplane a pregnancy test?
Its the poor and lower middle class who are punished by religious zealots who believe a baby before birth is worth more than a baby after birth. The very economic class that can least afford an infant.
Why the punishment for these economic classes? The rich and affluent wont put up with these draconian attempts to regulate reproduction.

Religious zealots? Even California has fetal homicide laws. Why? They're not religious zealots, so why have fetal homicide laws. Killing a fetus should be optional for everyone. Equal Protections Clause.

I'm confident that the Republicans in Iowa will step up to the plate and increase their Medicaid to pay for the life support of those babies born with severe congenital malformations.
