Obama wasn't as progressive as he pretended to be. I call him a failure and it has nothing to do with his skin color. I wanted him to be the person candidate Obama said he was going to be as president. Instead we got George Bush III.

IMHO I believe in many ways Obama was ahead of his time.I think he had grandiose visions, but his intellect and background betrayed him.
Obama was a bit of a hothouse plant. His background was not well rounded. Well educated and articulate he really didn't know Americans and their desires as much as he thought he did. He knew some Americans. Massive globalism, loose immigration, poor nationalism concerns, social adjustments etc. are not at the forefront of many Americans.
Stringent fairness in trade and the multitude of national interests including our standing in the world is of importance to many. Perhaps he had a dream, I know he was intelligent.

What Obama should have been asking himself is the same thing that Trump should be asking.
Is it really the right thing to do, if you have to lie about it?
Is it really a good thing if you have to lie about it?
Is lying a good style of leadership?
I really wanted Obama to succeed. It's too bad that he felt deception, deflection and omission were the best ways to lead.

He just didn't say in what direction he wanted us to change... did anyone ask?

It was not too early just too long and too expensive.

8 years of wild deficit spending and crapping on the Constitution.
Like one long tortuous root canal.

Oh. You mean they are 50 years closer to collapsing under the weight of crappy socialist ideas and suicidal immigration policies? I don’t agree....we are right there with them.

Towards the Islamic crescent with a dose of hammer and sickle.

Both of which had a huge influence on him. When he finally realized he had to be a Christian to win the big prize he picked the wonderful Rev Wright as his Mentor. Then threw him under the bus when he proved to be too controversial.

Doesn't seem to stop the millions of people who voluntarily stayed here illegally nor the millions who petition to live here every year through green cards.

He was inexperienced and incompetent. It was not us who was not prepared for him to have the job.

He's the perfect example of the Peter Principle.

Quote:
The Peter principle is a concept in management developed by Laurence J. Peter, which observes that people in a hierarchy tend to rise to their "level of incompetence". In other words, an employee is promoted based on their success in previous jobs until they reach a level at which they are no longer competent, as skills in one job do not necessarily translate to another.

I think there is definitely some true to what Obama says. I had a white conservative colleague tell me that Obama "completely changed America." I think he spoke his true mind around me because I am white, lol. He pointed to how gay marriage took off and became country-wide, marijuana legalization, all the LGBT rights, Obama fist bumping as the President, the affordable care act (universal healthcare), his involvement in Trayvon Martin incident and inviting the black Harvard professor who was arrested at his home and the cop to the White House for a beer, and a lot more issues that I can't remember.

He was visibly really angry talking about Obama (it was actually a little scary how angry he was getting talking about Obama). I'm sure there are a lot of others who felt the same way. This was around election time, so you know how motivated that group was to vote.

What racial divide did President Obama make worse?

If you are a bigot and a racist he did embolden you since it wasn't about his policies but hatred towards his skin color and where he was born.

and now we have the the bigots cheering who is in the White House....go figure.
