I started liking him a little better on January 20, 2017. Before that, not so much.

I voted for Obama, although I was let down by the end of his presidency because of his endless war involvement. A lot of lives were lost under him. Also, Obamacare was such a disappointment after the platform he ran under.

He's a hard person to hate, he's a great speaker and can make you believe anything he says. At the end that turned out to be a problem. He wasn't who I imagined him to be from his speeches, but hey, not the first time.

As a person, maybe, as a politician, hell to the no.

Any right leaning folks here that actually liked Obama?

More or less, yes. Good family man. Funny sense of humor at times. Performed the ceremonial role of Head of State quite well. Reminded me of people I grew up with.

I simply disagreed with his policies at times.

The right leaning people in my family generally like Obama just not his policies.

The far right people in my family are of course going to dislike any democrat so who cares what they think and fortunately there are very few of them.

Ironically, the furthest left person in my family that even campaigned for Obama was deeply disgusted by how centrist he was after "hope and change".

For me, I voted for him 2008 and 3rd party in 2012. I like the guy but he did not deviate from Bush\Cheney foreign policy which was one of my key hopes when voting for him.

Obama started on a wave of hope, but ended in a whimper of status quo. He didn't help people feel hopeful. That's one reason Trump won.

Obama could have cured Cancer, put every American to work, and walked on water, and they would still have accused him of some made up conspiracy theory, just to make their boy look better. No way will one of them ever give him any credit for anything, it would be like pulling their fingernails off.

Trump voter here.

If it weren't for Obama , I'd probably not have a job right now and would have changed careers. He saved the auto industry. Even though I think the entire industry needed a complete reboot, as well as the banking institutions , Obama chose to save these companies and banks and the millions of jobs they encompass. That alone helped our economy.

It's just that Trump makes Obama look amateurish as President when you compare their actual policies.
Go ahead and name those policies. Strange that you didnt mention any. The bailouts that didn't work make Trump look amateurish? Which policy of Obamas actually worked? Keeping us in never ending wars in the Middle East work? Continued out of control spending a good idea?

Oh but he got Bin Laden right?

It rewardeds the losers. Your job may very well have been saved since profitable parts are bought up by other companies. That's what happens.
