This deserves a new thread...but...since this one got bumped......wow. Just WOW.
This indicates to me that Mueller has a LOT of data from other sources, and Manafort thought he could safely lie about some things....and be horrifically wrong. Right now Manaforts got to be regretting some life choices. Hes going to die in jail.
And the terms of his original deal mean that he can't reverse course now.
that "lie" revolves around corsi sending an email to roger stone encouraging him to contact jullian assange. the email exists, it's that corsi now claims he "doesn't remember" sending it and it would be a lie to admit that he does remember sending..... an email that he did send.
... and Manafort thought he could safely lie about some things....
manafort's own daughter said that one of his biggest faults was that he believed he was smarter than everyone else and there was no way he could be caught.
Manafort is protecting the "Big Fish". Once Mueller's team files the sentencing paperwork with the lies, it will reveal the "Big Fish". Manafort had big Russian connections. Is that how or why he got the job with Trump? Was he the channel between Trump and Russia? The truth is really big for him to risk his own livelihood.

that seems to be the case.
He is clearly a reckless man who thinks he can get away with anything.
Or he got word that a pardon awaits him if he holds out/lies.
That's what I'm thinking. Trump is desperate to keep Manafort quiet. So he gets a message to him, maybe through his attorneys or his wife, to hang in there a little while longer and a full pardon is in the works.

The only problem with this theory is that his plea deal also included admissions that would lead to slam-dunk prosecution at the State level in NY and VA where Trump’s pardon power is meaningless.
