tell that to the 50 million babies butchered in the name of choice. Roe v Wade was supposed to make abortion safe and RARE. Hardly the case.

Conservatives want not just to ban abortion but to ban birth control. I've heard it countless times in church that the invention that started the "destruction of America" is the pill. You want to control every aspect of everyone's sex lives and private lives for that matter so you can force your religion on them.

It's amazing how close we are to theocracy right now and how many people who call themselves "true patriots" can't accept that the First Amendment affords people the right to not believe in their deity.

Not really a Conservative, but voted for Trump so I suppose that lumps me in with them. And my answer is no, RvW should not be overturned , and neither should same sex marriage. I could care less about whom marries whom. And have always been on the side of Pro Choice, although with some caveats.

Good luck with that plan.

I think most people fall somewhere between the ardent pro-life crowd that wants abortion banned in all circumstances and the pro-choice extreme that believes that abortion should be available on demand at any point in the pregnancy for any reason. Unfortunately it's hard to have productive discussions on this issue because people are so quick to lump everyone in with one extreme or the other.

Actually, s/he probably does have good luck with that plan, would you (try to) have a sexual relationship with someone who thinks that way? Kind of a self-selecting demographic, seems to me.

Maybe you should share your definition of conservative because I don't see this as a partisan issue.
I lean conservative and as such don't believe these types of personal issues are any of the governments business. So no, I would not support overturning R v W or same sex marriage.

The Texas Republican Party Platform calls for banning abortion.

In my opinion, a conservative is someone who votes republican, or for any of the right-wing parties. I’m happy to see that many conservatives are not in favor of overturning such important issues in our country. I just hope that SCOTUS agrees! I really should have made this a poll, sorry!

Though individual conservatives may not be in favor of banning abortion or same-sex marriage, the highly authoritarian Republican Party wants both SCOTUS decisions reversed. It's the same thing for marijuana legalization. It's mostly a generational issue with younger conservatives by and large being for legalization, but the GOP has taken an explicitly hard-line stance against it. The official position of the GOP is what matters, not the positions of some people who vote GOP that may go against the official party platform.
