Flake's manned up long ago, by knowing what actual leadership is. He sees the dangers of a Trump presidency and willingly fell on his political sword by refusing to run - all so he wouldn't be beholden to Trump. Are the concerns about him somehow invalidated because he's a Republican? Why not choose someone who doesn't have so many skeletons and be done with it instead of creating a circus.

Because Kavanaugh is a supremely qualified judge, and it would be a terrible precedent to deny him a job because of a coordinated and well-funded smear job.
Countless top republicans are stepping down and refusing to run again including Paul Ryan which is massive. The GOP is looking to get demolished next month

I heard someone say there will be an immediate need for bunkers if Kavanaugh is confirmed and Trump wins the Nobel Peace Prize in the same weekend.
(Didn't happen. The Peace Prize was announced a bit over 10 minutes ago....and Trump didn't win).
