Did you all catch that? "Scheduled." That means that these caravans aren't just spontaneous road trips; they are planned and arranged ahead of time. So who is doing the planning and arranging? And given that the participants are invariably described as "impoverished," who is funding all this?
And how are women pushing strollers, elderly people, and children making an average of 42 miles of progress per day?
How are they paying taxes with NO social security number?
Think about the implications from Govt taking payroll taxes from a NON-Citizen!!! WOW.
Besides that, nearly every job today requires a pre-employment background check...not able to complete on without a SS number.
They use fake numbers and taxes are taken from their pay. I worked with an illegal for years who could never collect income tax. He finally left when e-verify came. You are naive to believe background checks are done when a potential employer knows they can pay far less to an illegal than legal citizen. I have seen it.
But let's use your figures anyway - if 122 were apprehended trying to enter illegally, that's about 1/4. I think it's safe to assume that some entered who were not apprehended. Regardless, at least 1/4 of the caravan tried to enter the US illegally. I don't know why some people think that's acceptable.
And I'll add - if the caravan in progress is 7000 people, that means over 1700 illegal immigrants - assuming that only 1/4 of them try to enter illegally. 1700 people in one day. Maybe we should be used to that, though. But on a typical day, there are only about 1370 illegal immigrants who enter. Not 1700.
Who is this 7000 by the way? If so many Hondurans have turned back, and so many others have taken Mexico's offers of help? And what superhuman group is this, to be able to average 42 miles a day on foot supposedly?
"Fear" of the brown people? Did you invent that all by yourself Naw, just those who people who are" Illegaly" here regardless of where they come from or what color they are.
Trump uses "fear" to fire up his base. Duh the press, illegals, democrats, etc so NO I didn't make it up, the president did.
If Mexico's economy/social structure can easily absorb these people, and they're very willing to do it, why can't the US?
Oh, wow! That's a very naive question
We have enough poor American citizens, mentally ill people, veterans who are in dire need of help and you want to add thousands of functionally illiterate, unskilled people to the mix? Get real.
Aren't you aware as to how deeply in debt the US is? Where do you think the money will come from to continually deal with these parasites in this caravan? We can't take in the entire third world without descending into third world status ourselves. Don't you want better than that for your descendants?
If someone is illegal and they are working then taxes are being taken from their pay.
If they can't file income tax, guess how much the Gov. is collecting from illegals?
Truth is I don't think the Gov. wants illegals that are working here to go away anytime soon, I think this is an issue that Trump seized on to look good and fire up his base. "fear" of the brown people.
Illegals take far, far more than they give. Do some research.

I posted a link a couple of days ago. This is who is funding this caravan:
