So what exactly do they plan on doing? They want work they were OFFERED WORK by the Mexican Government! They plan on living off of welfare here!? I hope President Trump uses everything available to stop them. Shoot them if need be.
Did you actually read the article? 1,700 of them DID apply for asylum IN Mexico.
Statement from US Customs and Border Protection in El Paso:
Quote:
“Regardless of the operational contingencies we may face, please know this: We will ensure border security – we will not allow a large group to enter the U.S. unlawfully; we will act in accordance with the highest principles of law enforcement; and we will treat intending migrants humanely and professionally at all times.â€
I hope that migrants traveling with the sick, elderly, or children will keep this in mind and keep their loved ones out of harm's way. People are individually responsible for the safety and well being of those who are in their care. The children involved are the responsibility of their parents, not of the US or Mexico.
If they come to the U.S. through legal means, they expect difficulty getting jobs in some industry as it's difficulty for many people to get jobs here.

To my understanding, what they plan to do is apply for asylum in the US. Not flooding over the border or sneaking in at night, but going to a legal entryway and applying for asylum.
BTW, here's my prediction about this thing: By the time the caravan gets here, there MIGHT be about 500 people left in it. All the others will have either decided to settle in Mexico or go back home.
Is this a clear and present danger. It just might be.
Assume the caravaners are serious about making it to the U.S. to ‘escape’ their countries. Why fly their hellish country’s flag? Why turn down the chance to stay in Mexico, fight through Guatemala?
Assume they are part of the effort to undermine our government. Who is paying them? What are they being promised? Are dirt poor, illiterate peasants capable of the organizational (food, water, shelter, even transportation and medical care) task necessary to make the trek?

We can politely say no. No need to shoot anyone.
Like they politely entered Mexico? Have you seen the pictures of the Mexican Police they assaulted? This is a violent invasion and should be treated as such. They are offered jobs in Mexico therefore they are safe and away from their home countries.
