Well that's the goal of the Democrat, behind the scene organizers. This is an attempt to damage Trump, and the Republicans right before the Midterm elections. It is a purposeful act of Sedition by the Democrat operatives. What Trump needs to do is have them peacefully stopped. If they use violence, there are ways to subdue them in a non life threatening manner.
Understand... if a bully punches you, how do you peacefully get control of the situation - other than giving in and letting the bully do what he wants?
If that can be done peacefully... great. I'm expecting trouble.
The goal of this invasion is the media spin and the images of pain to inflict harm at the mid term elections.
If the goal of Trump is to protect America, he has to be ready to use force if necessary. And I think that's what those behind the invasion want.

This ain't the first time a caravan has tried to enter the US. Other presidents managed to handle it - why can't Trump?
Instead he tweets, rages, makes threats, and stokes fear and drama.
Can't his administration just do their damn job without all the fuss?
So what is he going to do? Have the troops open fire on a bunch of unarmed civilians? That would go over really well.
I think that's likely part of the migrants' strategy... get Trump to make a foolish move so that they can make him look bad.
IMO, Trump should do exactly what the media doesn't want him to do -- ignore the issue and move on. Dispatch the national guard to assist with border patrol if needed and call it a day.
There are far more pressing matters to attend to right now.
Due to the timing this is an obvious attempt by the Democrats, and/or whomever funds, and supports them to discredit Trump, and our legal immigration process. So, this is NOW Trump's fault? These clowns represent a clear and present danger to the U.S. Do you know who makes up this MOB? If so, do you know they are all law abiding, nice folks? Can you guarantee there are no criminals, violent gang members, terrorists, and drug dealers?
