About half my family is from or still living in Canada. I don't wish Barbra Streisand on them.

How about Cher?

I would support Hollywood relocating to Vancouver, or Toronto, or Moose Jaw for that matter.

The amount of money she has will get her in to most countries. All these looney celebrities can go anywhere they want for all I care. Whoever is lucky enough to get them can listen to their lectures and whining. I know I am tired of them.
Reminder; This thread was started by an American with Americans chiming in to insult Canada.

Fine and dandy while the insults were directed at Bab's but why would Americans, either find it necessary to insult Canada because of what some idiot American says, or why wouldn't you think it appropriate for a Canadian to respond in kind to idiot Americans spouting off about Canada?

No one on the planet would attribute more of the "spouting off" as coming from Canada; it's predominantly proven as an American thing to vilify other countries in a disparaging manner. Of that there can be no debate.

We need to resist government's constant quest for more tax revenue instead of trying to be more efficient, and cut operating expenses, and spending.

Just because people look at their income tax, and think they only pay X%, you must also look at the myriad other taxes we are charged, and include them in the TOTAL TAX BURDEN we pay. I believe per capita total tax burden is higher in Canada.
You "think" that do you? Recent research might dispute your "thoughts", especially as it applies to those attempting to duplicate all services received via their tax burdens, such as healthcare, but regardless, as long as your point was or is made so as to highlight the duality of conditions instead of casting unnecessary aspersions towards a particular country other than your own, you'll get no backdraft from me.

BUT; that's not what you've been doing here, is it?

It sure seems to trigger some folks when a celebrity makes an outlandish comment. SMH I don't get it, but whatever.

I really don't have time right now to research average, per capita tax burdens by country. Yes, they are my thoughts from in working in Canada for many years, and dealing with Canadian businesses, and business people in my conversations with them.

Government does nothing efficiently. There is no real incentive for them to do so. Does the value Canadians get from more government provided services funded by taxes surpass what Americans get? My "thoughts" are the fact that government is involved TOO MUCH says no.

I've lived in the U.S, for an average of 5 months every year since 2001 and visited for weeks at a time during winter months for years before that.

I'm perfectly familiar with negative "thoughts" being just as plentiful from friends and contacts from a variety of locations from California down to the Rio Grande Valley through all of the southern states to the Florida Keys I can assure you.

As to your assertion both governments are too inefficient and intrusive in our daily lives, you'll get no argument from me on anything or topic you might choose other than single payer healthcare.

That was the British; actual Canucks were at the time merely mercenaries under employ.
