At least as far as premiums and deductibles are concerned.

Mine skyrocketed after Obamacare was passed.

It may be a tough pill to swallow, that you simply cannot expect insurance companies to cover pre-existing conditions, and not raise premiums and deductibles for everyone.

It will be a rather large negative to return to pre-ACA despite your anecdote, obviously you don't have a preexisting condition.

One must look behind the scenes here. We can look at the immediate effect and see millions of people thrown off of Obamacare. Are we now going to see a republican attempt to create a new law that will be to corporate likings. Will it be designed to replace/incorporate Medicare. Will some judge from Texas then cut everyone off at the knees?

If you vote republican at any level you are not doing yourself a favor, ever.

I have not read the decision.

If it stands, then many people on Federal disability should be concerned. If the Social Security Administration (where I worked for 30 years before retirement) finds that an individual has experienced medical improvement related to their ability to work, and so ceases their disability, their Medicare coverage (under Title II) will also cease. They will then need to obtain private health insurance.

Of course, either their application for insurance will be outright denied based on pre-existing conditions (namely, those the person had while collecting disability), or the premiums will be very, very high, with the policy specifically not covering those pre-existing conditions.

Being a supporter of Mr. Trump will not exempt one from this happening.

Some commentators have opined that the Fifth Circuit Court of Appeals will uphold this ruling from a Federal District Court. I am not so sure, having practiced law in said circuit all of my legal life. When it comes to disability and health issues (issues in my wheelhouse) the Court has been surprisingly liberal over the years.

Are they going to reimburse the penalties that people paid who did not obey the government to take this ACA healthcare?

Didn't we just hear every Republican running for office in the mid-terms LIE about how they will do everything to protect those with 'preexisting conditions'?

I see this as a winning issue for the Democrats unless the Trump Team has some great replacement plan and we have already seen they don't.

Ah, so what. The people who will die are poor people anyway, and who needs them !

If there will be anything that causes our civilization to vanish, it will be the fact that we really do not care about our fellow man any more. Life has become so cheap and we treat it like we treat everything else, it is disposable.

But don't worry, Trump is going to come up with his " big beautiful healthcare plan, that costs pennies", as soon as he finishes building his wall !
