I think you need to read up on the history, TRADITION, of Christmas.

This isn't Israel. Silly comparison.

95% may celebrate it but they don't do it in the name of God. Capitalism now owns Christmas.

No, they don't

Purchase gifts is part of Christmas, nothing wrong. St. Nick gave gifts to children that’s where the tradition came from.

Non-Christians should shut their businesses "to respect Americans obviously". I'm trying to decide if you realize what you just said or if it was entirely intentional.

Unclear what Israel's laws have to do with what U.S. law should be.

Please also note that there are other religions (as well as agnostics and atheists) in the U.S. - it isn't just Christian and Jewish.

Israel has similar law and even more restricted on Yom Kippur where even TV stations are shut down and empty roads! In mega city London even their public transportation are halted.

Mandatory Christmas Day closing is permitted as per the Constitution (part of blue laws) so no excuses!
We’d have to shut the country down on Hanukkah, Passover, Yom Kippur, Halloween, Ramadan, etc. “Religious Freedom” applies to ALL religions. Be careful what you wish for.

Why can’t you celebrate Christmas your way and leave everyone else alone. Why do you want to impose your religion on everyone else?

Because he believes Christianity is the only "correct" religion.
