Of course it is! It’s the biggest national holiday and the day where almost everything is closed more than any other day of the year. However, few things remaining open should also be closed!
I think you need to read up on the history, TRADITION, of Christmas.
To respect Americans obviously and value family tradition. Anyone wishing to work on Christmas can help provide food and clothing for homeless shelters and do volunteer work. Why should non-Jews have to stop watching TV in Israel when non-Jews make up 25% of Israels population?
Unless you happen to show yourself being Jewish, it is perfectly fine wishing you a nice holiday greeting for a national holiday that is celebrated by 95% of Americans. Don’t like it? Move to Israel or China.
95% may celebrate it but they don't do it in the name of God. Capitalism now owns Christmas.

Non-Christians should shut their businesses "to respect Americans obviously". I'm trying to decide if you realize what you just said or if it was entirely intentional.
Unclear what Israel's laws have to do with what U.S. law should be.
Please also note that there are other religions (as well as agnostics and atheists) in the U.S. - it isn't just Christian and Jewish.
I think that the entire country should shut down completely on Christmas Day - including airports, public transportation, movie theaters and Asian restaurants that are open. Let the country rest for God’s sake one day a year. Essentials like hospitals and emergency services are obviously excluded.
Israel has similar law and even more restricted on Yom Kippur where even TV stations are shut down and empty roads! In mega city London even their public transportation are halted.
Mandatory Christmas Day closing is permitted as per the Constitution (part of blue laws) so no excuses!
