Israel has similar law and even more restricted on Yom Kippur where even TV stations are shut down and empty roads! In mega city London even their public transportation are halted.

Mandatory Christmas Day closing is permitted as per the Constitution (part of blue laws) so no excuses!
Take the day off if you want. The rest of us have already celebrated the Solstice and Festivus and such by then. What you do on your time is your business. Don't try to tell me what I should do with mine. This is not, nor will it ever be, a theocracy that promotes one fantasy over another. The Constitution assured that.

Maybe you should convert to Judaism and live in a kibbutz in Jerusalem.

Pssst: Not everyone believes that the country should rest for your god's sake even one minute a year...

Why can’t you celebrate Christmas your way and leave everyone else alone. Why do you want to impose your religion on everyone else?
Yeah start shutting down the entire country for 3% of the population

Similar to how the blue laws are enforced - fine as first violation, and jail if repeating. They are breaking a law obviously.

I've stayed in a hotel over a few Christmases. My favorite was the hotel where Santa Claus went through the dining room and the bar on Christmas Eve, giving everybody candy canes.

Wrong:

the role of religion in Christmas celebrations appears to be declining. Today, 46% of Americans say they celebrate Christmas as primarily a religious (rather than cultural) holiday, down from 51% who said this in 2013, with Millennials less likely than other adults to say they celebrate Christmas in a religious way. A majority of U.S. adults (56%) also say religious aspects of Christmas are emphasized less in American society today than in the past, though relatively few are bothered by this trend.

It works perfectly fine in Bergen County and other places with blue laws. Everyone follows and respects it, and there is no competition. You exaggerates..

Again you are wrong and seem to ignore the first sentence of the article. There is nothing secular about Christmas, so who cares how many people voted for “the religious aspect” of the holiday. Pointless.

The economy is slowing down as we write. Those Chinese Restaurants and movie theaters need all the revenue they can get.
