Yes but it is common practice in business to get people who have quit out early, so they can't do any damage to the organization on the way out. BTW the military is at all times supposed to have a transition plan for all leadership positions. That's the reality of the military - people are replaceable. Because you just don't know. Another principle is there is no "single point of failure" in a properly designed/equipped mission.
But one area where Trump does have some weakness is in his lack of a military background. If he had one, he would better understand how to manage a military man and to gain his loyalty and respect which he clearly failed to do with Mattis.
But that may have as much or more to do with Mattis as it does with Trump - it could be as simple as globalist vs nationalist. Since neither is going to budge and Mattis doesn't feel he can continue the mission unless Trump budges, that's not a relationship that can be salvaged.
BTW the military isn't suppose to operate this way - and Mattis should know better. He knows damn well that our system is based on CIVILIAN control of the military, and he took orders from a SecDef most of his career. But when it came to being SecDef he chafed at taking orders from Trump because he saw himself as the policy and decision maker, but he was wrong to do that because foreign policy is NOT the domain of SecDef. He overstepped his role. His JD is as a military adviser, when military action is necessary. Trump made an executive decision, in his capacity as CinC, that military action was no longer warranted, and that's all there is to it, it should be case closed at that point. You don't QUIT just because an engagement ends. The job is not about foreign policy, and its certainly bigger than one mission.
And is it your thesis that high turnover (the Mattis thing seeming to be your example) proves he's NOT a savvy or intelligent businessman?
If so, why? That's what leaders do. They restructure. A turnaround expert might have been a better choice - that's not Trump's area of expertise, but he is a savvy intelligent businessman in his own right.
BTW a turnaround expert, you guys would REALLY hate one of those. He'd fire nearly all career bureaucrats and replace them with his own picks. He'd drastically slash and burn the federal government ....not trim a couple departments...he'd cut everything across the board and focus on one big area (in this case it would be the presence of 30 million unauthorized trespassers) to cut costs, improve efficiency, and plan for the future.
The left would be on the floor kicking and screaming. Take "screaming helplessly at the sky" but everyday, and more widespread.
So count yourselves fortunate that Trump isn't as adept as he COULD be, because there are plenty of turnaround experts that could have his ear. He fired the last one, but its only a matter of time before another one comes into the administration.
The idea isn't just to create turnover, the focus is to find qualified people and with every firing we don't get stronger we get weaker. No company could survive this type of turmoil and at this point the pickings for replacements are not top of the line. Keep om mind that he hire his son-in-law as an expert in foreign affairs in the ME, that is not a turn around expert. Israeli peace pan?
According to reports he ignored his entire staff and made his decision after a phone call to Erdogan. He doesn't read reports, has no attention span, ignores his experts and makes decisions based on who he talked to last. We should be worried.
How many foundations and charities has Trump had that were found out to be scams. What is it that they say about doing something over and over again and expecting different results. He's more of a scam artist, not intelligent as he keeps stating he is.
Actually No.
The CIA got caught snooping and framed it on the RNC. Nixon tried to hide it all and got caught.
Just like the CIA and the FBI have tried to trap Trump. Trumps ego, is way bigger than Nixon and is his saving grace in all this Fake Scandal. A lesser man would have crumbled by now(Nixon)
That is just absolutely untrue--
All except the part about Trump's ego being bigger than Nixon's
Trump's ego is bigger than anyone's...
Alexander the Great's for example
Or Napoleon's
Or Stalin's...
Just a mark of his malignant narcissism...
NOT a good thing...
Ask any psychiatrist or psychoanalyst...
Silly pointless topic with OP pretending a list of fraudulent talking points supported by a link to a site dedicated to undermining a sitting president, proves he is stupid.
Trumps paternal uncle, John Trump, was an unquestionable genius- an accomplished physicist whose contributions on several projects undoubtably helped win WW2.
Even a tenuous grasp on the science of genetics leaves one to conclude his nephew isnt stupid.
When OP is elected dog catcher of his town get back to us, smart guy.
He was smart enough to beat Hillary, that counts for something.
Not really. Obama took out the Clinton Machine, and God forbid that you’d EVER call him smart.
Trump without daddy’s money would’ve been a driver at Waste Management.
