Yes it did. And Trump said he'd sign it. Until Coulter got upset.

I'm not really sure that that voting coalition still holds. The new senate is not bound by what their predecessors did, and Trump is doing his best to focus this fight squarely on himself, making it not a test of whether a deal is possible (and of course it is)*, but a loyalty test.

(*It's no secret what that deal is. DACA in return for increased spending on border security.)

That's what McConnell is protecting the president from. And yes, I absolutely blame him for putting politics before country.
I'm far from a McConnell fan. But whether he's doing it for the wrong reason or the right reason, he is showing Trump the consequences of breaking his word and treating the Senate President as a personal lackey. One of those consequences is Trump not getting to strut his stuff as a guest of the House of Representatives.

Sorry, this is on the Democrats. The orange bad man extended an offer... that alone shows he wants to get past this.
Sorry, this is still on Trump.

His counteroffer was nothing but nonsense.

A wall will deter a portion of the minority of illegals who are not visa overstayers who cross the border at places not already barricades or ports of entry. So, a fraction of a minority percentage. And it will take over a decade to build. Other measures will do a better job for cheaper and can be implemented faster without taking land from US citizens. That is what I, and apparently the Democrats, are advocating for.

Pretty much!

Otherwise, I'm sure he'd rather chat with Hannity or play a round.

I know how the electoral college works. Just setting the record straight that Trump did not win the majority vote.

And this is what the CBP actually wants when it talks about what it needs on the border. I haven't heard anyone, Dem or Rep, who doesn't want greater border security. Dems are offering an additional $5.7 billion for border security.

Not one word about how great it is that he is wanting to work for the betterment of our country by his willingness to work with both sides of the aisle.
Obama, for all his faults, was much too smart to pick a fight like that in public. Let's not pretend that Trump conceded graciously.

It 's pretty simple. If you declare your intent to park in the boss' reserved spot (and your boss isn't a complete wuss), you have placed yourself in a position where you will look like a loser no matter what. Either you back down (lost the confrontation), or you try to park and suffer the consequences (lost the confrontation). Well, the House is a reserved spot controlled by Pelosi, and she's not a wuss.

The only winning move is to let the boss keep her spot.

When the agreement is reached regarding the wall and the government is back up and running all of the praise will be given to the left - - - no matter how much either side concedes.

There is nothing wrong with being loyal to one's party and expressing viewpoints as long as it's done maturely and with intelligent forethought, it should never consist of childish comments and name calling to the point of bullying. Political bullying is declaring that anyone with views opposite from yours is to be targeted, harassed and removed from public eye. Freedom of speech (to many on the left) is only allowed if you're against President Trump and want to join their campaign.

Beyond pathetic.
Had he not cancelled the military flight the next day he might have been seen as the mature one, or if he'd just did was she said the first time it wouldn't have gotten this far, but that's not how things have worked out.

Bingo.

Walls work in populated areas to funnel people into points of entry.

Even then, people come through tunnels and over the top. One pregnant woman climbed over with a toddler in tow. (By the way, when the apocalypse comes, I want to be standing next the that woman.)

Ladders, saws, long poles and ropes, ... there are any number of ways to breach Trump's wall. The more isolated the wall, the easier this would be.

We just added another trillion dollars to the National Debt. Second year in a row. Starting up a multi-billion dollar boondoggle is just a stupid idea. Lot smarter ways to improve border security.
