Neither party looks out for Americans. However, at one time dems truly did look out for the poor, working and middle classes. I grew hearing stories from my grandparents and parents about how much dems did for their constituents. Those dems of yore would have been horrified to hear that their constituents were either seeing their wages depressed or were being displaced in the workforce, all due to illegal immigration. And, those dems would have done something about it---and I don't mean amnesty either.

At some point, dems really lost their way and did a 180 then started putting illegal aliens ahead of the millions of suffering underemployed and unemployed Americans. There was a time when I expected (and got) much, much better from the dems. Alas, no more. What is really sad that there are still people who believe that dems are looking out for Americans. I often wonder if dems are laughing themselves sick when they think of how they have duped so many Americans into thinking they care about them.

He doesn't give two ****s about "forrest management" (idiot still can't spell). Some of the worst and most expensive fires have started on FEDERAL LAND, and he hasn't cared about managing those forests. If this was happening in Kentucky or West Virginia, he'd be all over handing out that money and taking credit. He didn't play these games with all the conservative country areas where they built homes in flood plans and got wiped out in the last rounds of hurricanes. This is simply about punishing CA stakeholders who didn't support on immigration policy. If the most expedient way is lashing out at CA wildfire victims who lost everything they have and rely on that aid and temp shelter provided by FEMA, then so be it to him.

Similarly, with Fed workers, he basically took 800K Americans and their families hostage in an effort to strong-arm Congress into following his orders. He thinks their suffering is his leverage to make the House kneel before him. Meanwhile, as Donald talks about a crisis of safety at the border, the irony is that he's manufacturing the next crisis of safety with more Americans in the crosshairs - TSA stretching thin, air traffic controllers working for free, airline inspections reducing, food safety inspections reducing, drug approvals on hold, coast guard not functioning, etc. While some conservatives will laugh about how we don't need Fed air traffic controllers etc., they are frankly stupid, and most of us adults know better. There is a margin of safety we have come to assume, and as we take more of those players off the field, that margin will erode at some point and produce more American victims.

He isn't a patriot. He isn't a worthy President. He's not even a basically decent human. He is a craven, despicable hostage taker.
Odd, how I it seems like business as usual with the furlough's and unpaid vacation time. I wonder how many of those 800,000 people really are essential employees, I am sure some are but a vast majority of their jobs could be privatized or maybe in many cases their jobs don't serve much of a purpose.

I don't understand how putting American security and interests first and foremost isn't patriotic.

President Trump is a very worthy President. Amazing how a vast, vast majority of the counties across America decided he was worthy so he won a massive electoral vote landslide.

California is always reminding us about how rich they are. They have more than enough resources to house the homeless from the forest fires in northern California and they should do so. They spend on billions on illegal aliens so rich San Francisco and Hollywood liberals can have maids and servants so they have more than enough to house the American citizens left homeless from November's forest fire in Paradise, California.

California is wet in the winter and the growth dries in the summer. They should purchase billions in fire fighting tankers and other equipment with state money rather than wasting tremendous amounts of state money on ineffective programs and those who aren't in the country legally.

The 800,000 federal workers would be getting paid if the Democrats cooperated with President Trump's agenda. He has said time and time again that all it would take is 45 minutes for them to work out a deal and the Democrats have no interest because illegal aliens come first and they aren't willing to negotiate with President Trump's common sense agenda.

Speaking of leaches, check this out.

Seems California is one of the states that contributes more to the federal budget than it gets back.

Whereas, your own state of Pennsylvania is, as they say, a leech on our federal funds.

https://www.moneytips.com/is-your-st...-net-taker/356

So Trump claims he is going to withhold federal funds that California residents have paid more than their fair share of so that states like Pennsylvania can continue to be subsidized.

You suppport murder, rape, heroin, terrorism, gangs, and human trafficking.

You should be ashamed of yourself.

No, he's trying to build a 2,000 mile object he can point to and say ME! ME! ME!, an object the majority of those who work along the border say is not the most cost effective way to secure the border. You support a narcissistic, petulant man-child.

Tell the democrats to start negotiating. That will end the shutdown in one day.

Tell Trump to start being reasonable and quit pandering to his base. That will end the shutdown in one day.

Trump is well aware of the facts, supported by federal data showing that, the majority of illegal drugs entering the U.S. is through our ports, that border security officials who secure our borders have stated, “ a wall slows people down for a few minutes at best, what we need at the border are more staff and improved technology to stop the infux, and better oversight of those who overstay their VISAS”. Trump knows that building a wall is symbolic but, will not solve our illegal entry problem. Why then, does he refuse to acknowledge what experts who do this for a living tell him? Because Trump cares about one thing and one thing only, his image with uneducated ignorant folks who like the idea of a wall that separates “us” from “them”. The belief that a wall will keep “those people” out is simplistic and denies reality. But people like Trump don’t care about facts, just as he does not care about the effect his tantrum is having on Americans. He will continue to spread the lie that democrats don’t care about border security, because his base eats it up. Rather than working to approve real stratgies to effectively address illegal entry, he will act like the five year old that emotionally he is. A pathetic loser.

LOL... So what did Obama or Clinton tell these same workers when they shut down the Govt?

We're giving you free vacation time ! Aren't we great.

If you don't like it, go get a real secure job with someone say like General Motors.

Sounds like what the layabouts in Congress and the White House would say as their paychecks continue to be issued.
