Pelosi/Schumer refuse to fund Homeland Security and ONLY will accept a "kick the can down the road" for less than 30 days. THAT absolutely guarantees that Federal Workers do NOT get Paychecks.

Any Federal Worker needs to send a Thank You note to Nancy.

I seriously doubt that Donald Trump actually owns any National Forest or National Park land in California - I have no problem with the State of California "impounding" all Federal Land in the State.

The UP-SIDE is that the Federal Taxpaying Citizens are no longer responsible for the failures on California in the Management of their Land and dealing with the Goofy State Laws.
Go For it. It's a WIN-WIN for all of us.

They will fund border security. Just not the vanity wall.

How come he doesn't threaten to pull aid to Texas for flooding from Hurricane do to very poor development planning. Or Florida where the damage from the hurricane in the pan handle was exacerbated because fo substandard building code. Oh thats right. he counts on those states for votes.
FEMA is part of DHS which is not funded. Can’t pull funds from an unfunded organization.

And the blues states need to totally stop paying the lion's share of federal taxes so that they can keep the money for their own disasters.

BLUEXIT :A Modest Proposal For Separating Blue States From Red

For starters, we now endorse cutting the federal income tax to the bone—maybe even doing the full Wesley Snipes and abolishing it altogether. We will raise our state and local taxes accordingly to pay for anything we might need or want. We ask nothing more from you and your federal government. Nothing for infrastructure, or housing, or the care of the poor and sick—not that you gave us much, anyway. All we want is our money, and you can keep yours, dollar for dollar.

That would be ridiculous, even more so considering how much more CA pays into the govt than it gets back.

Trying to make a fair analysis of this is impossible task. The glaring example I like to use is NM which always tops the list of federal dollars spent per capita. NM has a small population but has a lot of federal facilities including two very expensive ones, Los Alamos and Sandia National Lab. Those two facilities by themselves add $2k in per capita spending. While those facilities clearly benefit the state and local economy the primary beneficiary of the work they do there is the entire nation.

If you want another example companies headquartered in Texas operate gas wells in Pennsylvania that are supplying energy to places NYC. Is the shiny office in Texas the source of that tax revenue?

Irrelevant, see my post above. Yet another example. The longest stretch of I-80 which extends from SF to NYC goes through Nebraska. How do you propose we divide up the beneficiaries of the federal tax dollars spent on that road. Clearly the conga line of trucks traveling over it from coast to coast are a benefit for the economies of California and NY.

[quote=chucksnee;54103993]Overwhelmingly? Butte county was 48% trump, 44% hillary....

Is that not with in the margin of error?

There is no "margin of error". That is a statistical term which in this case would refer to polling data. This isn't polling data, it's a hard count of actual votes. Trump definitively won this county with no margin of error.

I report. You decide.

If you are an American citizen, the Trump is your President. Period.
