No, dude. Scandanavia is not a communist country. They have freedom of religion, freedom of expression, freedom of thought and association, and they have an equivalent of the 4th Amendment, so they therefore have a free market economy.

Your fault is you think Socialism is Marxism or Stalinism or Communism.. and see, by that you already failed.
Socialism means you have central control of the economy.

Scandinavia doesn't have that. Does this look like a list of organizations that could exist in a socialist country?
https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_o...rdic_companies

No, it does not. They exist because the Scandinavian countries are free countries, not socialist.

Socialist has a specific meaning (above). It doesn't mean "countries that provide subsidies to the poor". Every free country, including the USA, provides subsidies to the poor. That doesn't make a country socialist or communist.

Does the means of production of cell phones in Finland belong to the government of Finland? NO IT DOES NOT. It belongs to Nokia, a private enterprise NOT owned by the government. So it's just like the USA. Not socialist at all.

And no, none of the Scandinavian countries are completely left wing. They all have right wing parties, and in some cases the right wing party is currently in power. In fact, just over a year ago, a far right wing extremist was elected as the head of one of the political parties in Finland.

So no, not a socialist or communist country.

Examples of communist or socialist countries are China and Venezuela.

Fascism -- right wing extremism -- says "practice the religion I want you to, or you die." Examples are Saudi Arabia, Iran and people like Mike Pence.

Communism -- left wing extremism -- says "practice ANY religion, and you die". Examples are China and Venezuela.

I don't think either of those is a good model to replace the current pluralistic, democratic republic that is the United States of America.

There’s little basis in reality aside from what right-wing propagandists espouse as reality.

It’s a sweeping generalization to say that liberals think “capitalism is evil”. Period.

And no one is advocating for a solely-socialist society either. It’s called nuance.

Exactly what part of my question has no basis in reality?

America is a capitalist country.....yes?

Venezuela is a socialist country.... right?

And there are thousands of people walking thousands of miles to get to America instead of Venezuela..... correct?

Are you saying that the Left doesn't demonize capitalism and promote socialism?

Really?

The entirety of the left “doesn’t demonize capitalism and promote socialism”, you’re just repeating a tired right-wing talking point with little basis in reality. Really.

You're both socialists...just to different degrees and you disagree on which pet projects to spend the stolen money on.

Stop it. Your right wing radio hosts and TV "journalists" (like Lil Sean Hannity) are lying to you again.

Lefties don't want that socialism. They want the socialism where you work tirelessly and pay for everything and shower them with free crap. Which means they are insane and it doesn't matter what they want, it is best to ignore them and all their mindless whining.

Exceptions to a rule don't necessarily disprove the general validity of the rule.

Stereotypes don't become stereotypes because they have no basis in reality.

It doesn't have to be "The entirety of the Left" to be a generally true statement.

Venezuela's percentage of public ownership is between 30%-40%.This is about how publicly owned a Social Democracy is - France for example is at 38%. The United States is at 28%. Cuba, by comparison is at 76%. Their economy is and always has been under majority private control. It is and has always been capitalist.

The caravans of immigrants coming from Honduras and Guatemala are coming to the U.S. because it was the U.S. who helped destabilize their countries. Their thinking is you messed up my country and it is now a dangerous place and no longer safe to live so now I am coming to your country so I can live safely.

Sorry to break this to you, but I listen to NPR more than anything else.

Actually caught myself admiring a Subaru Outback the other day
