What a great policy you abandon your individual rights, live as they dictate and if you have an illness that they deem to be caused by your impure thought or actions they can refuse coverage and claim it God's will....
Keep drinking the Kool-Aid
It is not an issue for most church goers, since they have already abandoned certain lifestyle choice already.
My wife and I have considered this, but have stuck with our old plans.
I know it did, just saying why do we and he have to get like that, the OP could have spelled out a good alternative for insurance for some and leave it at that.
On the other hand though there are some that just look for a opportunity to bash Christians and this thread let them right in.
I don't like the bashing, either, but this looks to me like a case of "pick what you plant." Had the original post been less inflammatory, I suspect the replies would have, as well.
The co-op I chose charged $465 for family plan, $160 for individuals. $5 million cap. No deductible. But there are RULES. You have to be a Christian, attend Christian church services at least three times a month, get your pastor to sign off on it, abstain from smoking, drinking to excess, and sex outside of marriage. It does not pay for check-ups or pre-existing conditions, you have to have been cancer-free for five years, and can't have Type I diabetes.
The reason it's so cheap is it doesn't pay for garbage like birth control, abortions, Viagra, or anything immoral like 0bummer care requires. And it won't pay if you've violated one of the rules. Say you get hurt in an accident where you get injured because you or someone you were with were driving drunk. Not covered. You get pregnant and are not married. Not covered. You smoke and get lung cancer. Not covered. Check-ups are not covered. Why should they be? That's not what insurance is from. And if you don't pay your premium, you get kicked out.
My FIL has this kind of insurance. But he lied to them because he is an alcoholic. Other than that, he is fairly healthy and doesn't smoke.
I always thought that instead of traditional health insurance, people could opt to be members of a hospital and pay them monthly fees directly. The hospital would be there for them when they needed medical treatment. Yearly checkups would be at a discounted rate, also discounted medicines.
That would cut out the insurance company as the middleman. No more paying for all those insurance company employees and do away with a lot of paperwork. I don't understand why a free yearly checkup should be included in an insurance plan. I don't mind paying $125 for a checkup. And no, I don't want to be part of an insurance pool that pays for maternity services, not at my age.

Notice no atheist will say "Because Stalin murdered millions of people, I am abandoning my atheist beliefs"
There's a large difference between one's personal beliefs and institutions that corrupt them. The idea that one cannot believe in the teachings of Jesus without belonging to some organized group is simply untrue.
To me, that's silly reasoning. It's like saying Christians are bigoted because a Christian minister won't perform Jewish weddings.
It's not like people are excluded because of race. Being a Christian is 100% voluntary, so if you want to participate in the health plan as far as religion goes, it's up to you.
A. I did not say Christians are bigoted.
B. Medical care is not a religious ceremony.
C. Do you have anything else to say about my silly reasoning?
2. Rush Limbaugh has said on his show, he hired investigators who proved leftwing activists, usually former college professors spammed complaints to his sponsors, directly and via social media, trying to get them to abandon his show. I do not have audio tape of Rush saying this, but I remember when he said it.
3. We also know protesters have been paid by the left in some instances.
Why people aren’t leaving the catholic and Mormon church in doves is beyond me. This isn’t a handful of cases. This systematic abuse all over the church.
What makes you think there is systematic abuse in the Mormon Church?
The real confusion is WHY someone claiming to be Christian judges a large group such as "the left" to be godless while supplying NO supporting facts of that nonsense. Just WHAT part of the teachings of Jesus calls for such mass judgement?
Jesus often pointed out the bad actions of Pharisees. The leftwingers are today's Pharisees. Always preaching and dictating, but never following their own dictates.
Interestingly, you can look up any and all complaints against Samaritan, and you will not find a single negative thing in any forum as far as their denying coverage of a condition they claim they will cover. This is rather astounding, considering there are so many paid leftwing activists who spread lies on forums.
That's because they probably delete all the negative comments. I can only imagine some unscrupulous pastor holding this over some poor sap's head for blackmailing purposes. "Live your life how I say or else your entire family is cut off." Yeah no thanks. Medicare for all is the only viable solution.
That's not my co-op. Mine is Samaritan Ministries.
