Hate to break it to you because I know you believe that all “libs” march in lockstep, buy I’m against most abortions. However, I am also FOR sex Ed in schools, fully available birth control, and mandatory child support from the fathers, married or not.
Well, he likes his totalitarian regimes, we knew that.
Ah well. Blatant abuse of the Emergency Powers Act to do an end-run around Congress - that's how republics die. Stop him now, or be ruled by fiat.

Actually I am not thrilled about this executive power grab. However securing the border is a major need. The President is totally correct, the loony left is a threat to the nation by allowing these illegals in and protecting them.
I agree with you about executive power grabs being part of how republics die. Our republic is dying, currently there is a power struggle between left and right about who will control it but in the end our democratic system is likely doomed. Socialism is incompatible with our constitution, if the left wins we will live under their boot.
Sadly the future of this nation may either be a Putin type figure ruling this nation as a right wing strong man or a leftist like Hugo Chavez. The division in this country and the general ignorance of our population is making democracy impossible. In the end I will support my conservative values in order to prevent a socialist regime from rising in America but I do wish we could go back and put things back the way they were.
Democrats and Republicans used to be rational, Americans used to have a sense of unity, we never before had 40 percent of our population calling for socialism, never had people demanding the curbing of 1rst and 2nd amendment rights. We really have already gone to far. Very few people have the correct values for our republican form of democracy to work. I hope time can prove me wrong but I feel it will not. It is only a matter of time before someone on the left seriously challenges the constitution and demands a new one.
At some point the Dems will get the presidency. They will declare an emergency for global warming with some draconian fixes. They will point to today and say if he can we can. The people cheering this idiotic move by Trump will squeal...
