Well it was always all about money. Imagine if MLK could be bought off like Kaepernick, the Civil Rights movement never would've happened.

Liberals love to berate the rich and whine how they get richer yet here we are witnessing them admire one who fits the category.

Wow, $60 million? I thought it wasn't about the money? Will he be giving 90% to social activism?

This is why playing the race card and being a victim is such a big business in America, he earned more by kneeling than he ever did playing.

Amen.

As far as I can find out, the $40-60 million number is sheer whole cloth speculation. Just the fact that they give a $20 million range shows that this did not leak from someone 'in the know.'

The truth appears to be that those who know, aren't saying, and those who say, don't know.

2014 = Kap signs mega-contract, a six-year extension worth up to $126 million through 2020. Nessa used to be DJ jockey in San Franscisco and was dating and living with Aldon Smith of the 49ers.

* Colin Kapernick became Pro-Black, BLM, and Islam when he starting dating his current girlfriend Nessa.

2015 = Nessa and Aldon broke up sometime in 2015 and she started dating Colin. When they met, how they met?? Remember the fight that Colin and Aldon had during the summer camp workout??? 2015 Training CAMP. This created friction in the locker room for Colin. The team captain hooking up with the ex-girlfriend of a teammate.

Report: 49ers' Aldon Smith's Love Triangle Played Role In Colin Kaepernick's Locker Room Drama - NinerFans.com - A San Francisco 49ers Blog

2016

Colin request trade from 49ers. Nessa no longers lives in CA; she lives in NYC for her Hot97 gig. She moved to NYC in Jan 2015 for her gig. He states that he wants to leave the 49ers for another team. He hints at NY Jets (i wonder why??)

https://ninerswire.usatoday.com/2016...opportunities/

https://www.cbssports.com/nfl/news/r...-to-join-jets/

49ers restructure his contract to a 2 year with the (2017) 2nd year being a player optional.

Colin Kaepernick, San Francisco 49ers agree to restructure deal

He started doing the kneeling stuff during 2016.

2017

He opts out.

How exactly was he blackballed?? This is a clear and pure example of the POWER of a woman. This dude is kitten whipped.

His message was only effective while he was in the NFL. The NFL pulled the plug on his free speech and they had to pay. That's what they have insurance for, when they make a mistake. Kap should offer to play free for any team who will allow him his free speech. Show who they really pledge their allegiance to.

Ever notice it's always articulate and refined black people who cause the far right the most disdain. If he would have beat a woman and got busted with drugs and a gun the same people would be saying give the boy a break.

You can't get your message out if you have sold your right to speak out. It's not necessarily a condemnation of him; I would have done the same thing. But it's an inescapable fact that he did sell out his cause. No way around it.
This is a lawsuit that addresses the collusion part of the contract. That is not his cause.

I always thought the whole concept of kneeling for the anthem was misguided, and reeks of civic ignorance. The Anthem represents the American system, including the 5th amendment (due process), and the 14th (due process, equal protection). Kaepernick should have been protesting against those who are supposed to uphold the constitution, namely police courts, and local elected officials. Not the anthem.

Also the federal DOJ is there to make sure that the Constitution is upheld. Guess on whose watch it was in 2016, when the whole kneeling protests began (2016). President Barack Obama, and atty gen. Loretta Lynch.

Sure, this was part and parcel of his cause. His claim was that the NFL colluded against him in retaliation for his protests.

Hell no, why would he? They froze him out and rather than get their asses handed to them, they settled out of court for their malfeasance.

He's laughing all the way to the bank, and I aint even a fan of the guy, thought he was an average QB, at best, lacked any real leadership skills on the field, but he exhibited quite a few off of it. The cabal that runs the NFL have always thought they were above the law, and now that line of thinking is costing them millions.

Again, we don't know that. People settle all the time, even in the face of a weak case.

And remember, it takes both sides to reach settlement. By your 'logic' we could just as easily say that Kaepernick settled because he knew he would lose in a trial.
