I'm not saying "do nothing". I'm saying this. The very persons who are fervently in favor of Trump acting were often the very persons who did not care when Blacks were suffering under the apartheid regime.
This move by Trump will be very popular with the WHITE NATIONALIST wing of his supporters.
And that's the thing. The very persons who love what Trump is doing are the very persons who would say things like "see what happens with no apartheid"? The very persons who were in favor of apartheid. I could understand if said persons were equally against apartheid.

That is what I'm saying. The persons who are fervently in favor of what Trump is doing, I wonder how many of said persons took a blind eye (or flat out supported it) when Blacks were oppressed during apartheid?
My hypothesis is this. For some people, the only reason they support this because they hold the view of "South Africa belongs only to White people and everyone else, especially Blacks, must be put under apartheid". Some people wish South Africa had apartheid, but won't openly say so.

Black people in the USA were protesting to have the apartheid regime taken down, and have it end. Here is the thing. I am against apartheid. I am against the land expropriation. I am equally against both. You saying "it's natural to stick up for your race", that tells me that you would have turned a blind eye in terms of Blacks suffering under apartheid. And that tells me all I need to know about you.

The Reagan Administration cozied up to the South African government under the policy of "constructive engagement" (as did the Thatcher government in the UK) at the time - as a reversal of that trend...
