As we clearly see daily her on CD, it certainly wasn't settled. I won't bother to point you to the threads, but there are hundreds of posts........surely you have been in those convos?
No, it was settled 150 years ago with resounding finality. There is just a subset of the population who can't seem to let it go and are trying to systematically rewrite history to be "inoffensive ".
you mean you have never heard of them. With around a dozen top 40 and 4 top ten hits, people who listen to country that isn't inspired by justin bieber know who they are.
As for the name, they chose it because they wanted a name that conveyed their southern roots.
people like you, who support stupidity like this, are the reason we can't have nice things.

The is utter INSANTY embraced by virtue signaling Progressives. It is creating a lot more division in society, which is what they want.
I fully expect it out of the Chicago area, but downstate? That’s a surprise.
The Pritzer administration is taking responsibility for the cancellation, so yeah, Chicago.

It's a self-deprecating name to begin with. Confederate railroads were notoriously problematic; the track gauges weren't uniform, so hauling cargo from point A to point C often meant unloading and reloading at point B because the train that started out from point A wouldn't run on the tracks that go to point C. Plus all the parts were made in the north so if an engine broke down during the Civil War they were just stuck. Basically it was a clusterf***, and that what the band was saying about themselves when they picked the name.

Good thing Governor Pritzer doesn't know how strategically important the Shenandoah Valley was to the Confederate army during the Civil War or Restless Heart would be doing an awfully long show.
I remember when the Dukes of Hazard was being called out by the SJW's for being racist and a show on NPR had a Black fella reminiscing about watching the Dukes tear up the roads in their cool car and doing crazy jumps to ditch the cops. He remembered a good fun show where the good guys won and no one was seriously hurt in all the car crashes. He then expressed how he couldn't believe how gullible he was to be rooting on such overt racism that was evident on the roof of that orange car..
Chill people. "The Dukes of Hazard" was a good fun show adored by kids of all ages but no the SJW's had to be offended and the reruns thrown into the trash.
I can't help but wonder if with the Dukes as it is with this band Confederate Railroad that it is a very small minority that has negatively affected the majority that don't care about a flag or a name.
When will this madness end?
Ironically, the only character on that show not portrayed as a total rube was Sheriff Little of Chickasaw County.
Illinois derives its name from the word "Illiniwek" which is the Native American name for the Illini tribe. Maybe the Tribe doesn't think it's an honor?
It's much a ado about nothing, but for those aggrieved by this washed up band not being allowed to play at the fair, take heart: A nearby Harley Davidson dealer is having a hog roast during the fair and have invited Confederate Railroad to play.
And I think Pritzker went too far, but there will be people of color at a state fair who may take offense at their Confederate flag, so there's that.

Again, people like you who support stupidity like this are why we can't have nice things.
