BTW Anyone who has any education at all should know that "confederate" has other meanings. It isn't limited to the Confederacy. Try to explain that to the SJWs.
This is a 1st amendment violation IMO and should be reversed quickly. The Illinois Dept of Ag and its manager are part of the government. Axing a band over their name is flat out a 1st amendment violation. If it was a private fair, they would have every right, but its not so they don't.
What about if they were called Auschwitz Angels?
How about Nazi Knights?
Nights of the Klan?
Fascists Funk?
There is a line somewhere.....I'm not going to say where it is, but there is a line. I think most will agree......
Branding is important - which is why they took that name in the first place (Southern Rock). But the Land of Lincoln doesn't like modern day Confeds I guess.
I’m not from the South, I hate what the confederacy stood for. They could call their band “Nazi Railroad” insofar as both nations has similar views towards black people.
Why? All of it was settled 150 years ago? Wars over, you can go home now.

So your contention is that they could be called the "Laughing Lynch Mob" and the fair would have no right to cancel them after complaints?
How about curse words and deviant or other sexual terms? Those are fully covered by the first. So do you claim a band, display or person performing could not be cancelled no matter how vile their name?
I'm not claiming I agree....with this one. Just stating that there is a line. If the Fair has that "family values friendly" line, they should have enforced it before hiring.
But still....the band got lots mojo by taking that name in the first place.....so all's fair. They will sell a lot of songs as a result of this too.
They will probably get paid a percentage of the contract...if not all.

As we clearly see daily her on CD, it certainly wasn't settled. I won't bother to point you to the threads, but there are hundreds of posts........surely you have been in those convos?
So a band that has been around for 32 years should change their name to make some babies happy? Stupid.
