We ALL know why Trump Voters stay quiet, don't identify themselves in their neighborhoods with signs ..... "nice house & sign you got there - be a shame if it all burned to the ground".
I have to admire those that put their bodies at risk especially the kiddos and those not in groups -- most of us stay quiet and speak at the Polling place on Election Day.

One of the reasons that Trump Rallys are so HUGE is that Trump Supporters feel SAFE to carry a Trump sign. They feel SAFE to wear a Trump T-shirt or MAGA cap. Safety is in large numbers.
Safety is also in the privacy of a voting booth/stand.
It isn't socially unacceptable. What has happened is that leftist fruit loops have decided that anything Trump is an act of violence and their "defensive" use of "retaliation" is justiied against whomever "assaulted" them with Trumpian hate speech.
The guy who assaulted the kid with the MAGA hat? He said he felt "assaulted" by the MAGA hat. Andy Ngo getting worked over by AntiFa? Had it coming because he represents hate speech, thus is a walking assault. Trump 2020 sign in your yard? Assaults anyone who decides to take offense, so they are justified in burning down your freaking house.
And the sick thing is judges and cops are allowing these initiations of force to happen without any sort of proper legal reprisal, where the victim is wrong if they actually fight back, and the aggressors must "be understood, not punished."
That, good sir, is why support Trump signs are disappearing. Because batcrap insane lefties think they justify violence, vandalism and/or theft. No political idea is worth the hassle, especially when law enforcement and adjudication both abdicate their jobs in such cases, leaving victims helpless.
The leftie knuckleheads have learned the Muslim process well. Beat the crap out of anyone who offends you, and pretty soon, nobody will dare offend you, especially when the entire legal framework of the country takes a powder on protecting your natural individual rights.
So it isn't that one thing has become socially unacceptable, but rather that something else (somehow harming/hurting anyone who says 'go Trump' in any way) has become socially acceptable.
Even though I am no special Trump fan, I have given thought to wearing a MAGA hat simply because the leftie fruit loops who come at me are coming at somebody who benches 365, has LEO and martial arts training aplenty and has no problem whatsoever dropping an epic beating on anyone who puts their hands on me. If more of those morons took proper, savage beatings for their foolishness, fewer would think of harming others.

And I do believe you have a valid complaint to take up with your mayor and local police. There is no way Americans should stand for Nazi's killing people for political signs.

Had this very discussion with my wife. We are both libertarian, so don't really support the guy, but we were just saying yesterday that if we were backing the dude, no freaking way we'd ever put a sign in the yard, wear the MAGA hat, prop him on social media...none of it.
And it isn't because I am personally scared of anyone that stupid, but I am scared of what would happen to me if I were to reply to aggression properly, according to my libertarian sensibilities. I'd go to jail because some idiot caught the epic beating that their stupidity demanded.
It's just soooooo not worth it. Our government has decided that lefty morons are allowed to act like teenage hoodlums without any reprisal, so the best course of action is to stay off their freaking radar. I have my principles, but discretion is always the better part of valor.
