The decision to not prosecute NYPD Officer was ultimately made by Attorney General William Barr himself —

State agents killing with impunity?

Golly, that's never happened before.

If I recall correctly, it was banned by the police department - but that doesn't make that choke hold illegal or criminal.
It was a banned police move. That's what I initially said. Banned. It's really irrelevant. He was not allowed to do it. He did and at the very least contributed to the death of another. That should be automatic termination.

Again, someone attacking me as opposed to what I said. No, I would not show a police officer what is in my pockets simply because he wants to know. The adds are very low he would force me to because I am not Eric Garner.

Anecdotal stories are not worth much but I will note...........

My son and his girlfriend was moving one day. They had a load in the truck and was heading to the new house. He was in the back with his girlfriend because there was three people in the front of the truck. I arrive at the house and he isn't there. I call. He tells me they were pulled over. It was just up the street. The officers were in their cruiser when I got there. He explains they were pulled over for riding in the back of the truck. The officers had their I.D.'s.

I knew it was legal to ride in the back of a truck so I asked him if they were doing something stupid like standing up. They weren't. I pulled up on my phone where it was legal. The officers approach and I ask them why he had pulled them over. The officer said it was because they were in the back of the truck. I flashed on my phone it was legal. They said "we just wanted to make sure they rode back there safely".

I said that they did NOT have to ask for I.D.'s to do that. They gave them back and left.

You said illegal - that's why I asked for a link.

I did. I then noted it was banned as I initially said. It was fair to ask for the link.
