I think this was an intended personal business purchase that was swept under the Truman umbrella as an afterthought.

He could make money from it. Greenland has some mining resources. This might be very attractive to Trump. However, for the purpose of real estate, I don't think that would be in Trump's favor. Not many people would want to live in Greenland, for some climatic reasons. I do not think for a moment that Trump would be looking out for the country when he thought about buying Greenland. At most, he might want to build an "American Empire". That is just my speculation.

What is of some concern are the amount of people who are cheering Trump on, in terms of trying to make that deal.

Seriously, has there ever been a bigger idiot or moron as President. Trump is an embarrassment to this nation and a total disgrace to the American people. In other words, a loser in every sense.

The rationale for the Trump defense changes as the situation develops. The defense, however, never ever waivers.

What is there to get about Trump? Why else would a President think about buying a territory from another country, especially when the country involved isn't interested in selling?

I do get you. The unhappier so-called "libs" are, the happier you are. Prove me wrong.

If former President Obama had tried to buy Greenland, I suspect you might have made so many complaints about Obama.

What’s to get? It’s not like he’s deep. He’s a child. Shrug, children are simple minded.

lol. You guys, anything for drama.

I did just read that Seward did one better than Truman. He tried to not only buy Greenland, but also Iceland. Heck, with Thule AFB and God knows what else, Greenland is essentially a military reservation for the US in any case. In any kind of more aggressive conflict the place would be immediately taken over like it was in WWII, it would be interesting to see the current planning on that.
No, by ignoring what makes a country-- the human beings. By having inhumane policies and simply ignoring the population, and treating people as if they are a commodity or pawns.

How do you think Alabama would react if California or New York decided they were interested in buying it? How do you think the people who live in Alabama would react?

Of course it would be like Trump's Greenland assumption--no consideration for Greenlanders or Danes--just assume that anyone can be bought. Alabama residents would learn of this offer from the media.

Think they would care, or would the governor of Alabama have them down to discuss a purchase, while all the residents cheer?
