No sale by Greenland's owner. That should put paid to this silly idea.
And he's going to come visit Denmark in September. Dear Lord, the comedy skits write themselves.

Absolutely, Greenland is hugely important - like Alaska and Siberia, with vast natural resources and a strategic location on the globe.

But expecting Denmark to sell it to us in 2019 is just silly. Instead of approaching Denmark privately with some proposal he blathers in the public arena. Which shows that he isn't really serious, it's like all of his other antics - performed for political expediency only.

Why does anyone take this fool seriously?

Yup. Awkward. They'll have their chance when Trump visits. Cannot wait to hear him call another country's press 'fake news.'

"If he is truly contemplating this, then this is final proof, that he has gone mad," foreign affairs spokesman for the Danish People's Party, Soren Espersen, told broadcaster DR.."

We already have Alaska.
It's strategic because it lies alongside the track of Russian submarines marshaling out of Severomorsk.

Maybe Trump can purchase the Rotterdam butt plug gnome statue? That can be his lasting legacy.

And the DPP are the right-wingers, too. I hope the Queen blows smoke in his face.

Remember how electing Trump was going to restore respect for America?

Greenland has iron ore, lead, zinc, molybdenum, diamonds, gold, platinum, niobium, tantalite, uranium, fish, hydropower, possible oil and gas and only 56,000 inhabitants.

It may actually be a profitable acquisition for the right price.

And if it was for sale. I know, details.

Not really. Just the same old double standard with a pinch of hypocrisy.

Default Trump inquiring about buying Greenland

Trump has inquired about the US purchasing Greenland them. Greenland which has a population of 50,000 (which would fill up half of most US Stadiums) would be the third time the US has inquired about the purchase. It would make logical sense for the US, due its natural resources and militarist locations.

As an American citizen who has visted Greenland for work, i'd be all for it.
