An allegation with zero proof is not something the FBI should waste resources on.
If that was the standard, an entity could consume large resources and hold up such nominations by tossing out one allegation after another for years.
It wouldn't have been that difficult to interview a few people, they already committed some for Ford. This story has been out thee for a while but Grassley stopped the investigation short of interviewing the woman, her mother and her friends.
the times updated the original article:
Editors’ Note: Sept. 15, 2019
An earlier version of this article, which was adapted from a forthcoming book, did not include one element of the book’s account regarding an assertion by a Yale classmate that friends of Brett Kavanaugh pushed his penis into the hand of a female student at a drunken dorm party. The book reports that the female student declined to be interviewed and friends say that she does not recall the incident. That information has been added to the article.
Leaving the above information out of the original article can only be construed as gross professional misconduct by the times.

Sad that you believe any of this fiasco of lies was credible.

The NYT and other media regularly correct and update stories, that is the difference with social media and bloggers that are regularly used as a news source. This is the way it has been for ages, not updating the story would have been considered bad journalism. The story was updated one day later, what about the rest of the article. Strange having Fox News criticizing the NYT for updating the story.

You forgot that the alleged victim doesn't recall any such incident occurring. Kind of important in the real world.

Goodnight, the times authors were reviewing a book in the original article, a book which these authors wrote. they knew that the woman denied remembering a 'sexual assault' by Kavanaugh, but chose not to include her denial in the original article.
Updating new information for a story is very different than purposely omitting information pertinent to the story.

Yeah, these "journalists" accidentally left out key details from their own book.
