Greta Thunberg is not a hero, nor is she a leader in the complimentary sense. She is a misguided, emotionally tortured child, the victim of a collectivist, radically fearful green agenda in which she admits she was immersed during her formative years. Her rhetoric is laced with contempt for traditional leadership and scholarship. Her tirades lack proper references and logic, and are persistently angry and irrational. She claims the moral high ground but does nothing to earn that high ground. The more likely catastrophe we’re facing is that Greta will be a role model for a generation of precocious brats devoted more to protest and disrespect than inquiry and dialogue.
Children belong in politics when the adults in politics won't do their jobs. This is going to be her world that's been given to her. She has a right to kick and scream about the unjustness of it.
She's 16. She hasn't a clue about the world. Especially if she had no childhood, then developmentally she has/will have a tremendous amount of mental health issues now/in the future. She is not well. And will not be well as she gets older. Ask any therapist about adults who claim that they "had no childhood." Pretty screwed up bunch.
Do you truly believe that *everything* will change RIGHT NOW because this child yelled at a bunch of people?
What do you think is going to happen when her 15 minutes of fame is up?
Yeah, let's just rally the troops and get everyone fired up, ready to make some changes.....ah...where do we start ?
Now, THERE is a good question...
As I have stated many times, I are jus' a dumb ol' retired mek-a-nik, I ain't got a kolidge edicashun, so I don't know what should be done about "climate change".
Nor do I know if humanity can stop "climate change".
Nor do I know what should be done to adapt to the inevitable changes when it becomes apparent that humanity just can't do the impossible, and STOP "climate change".
Realistically, what will happen to our technology if we just stop using coal and petroleum? CAN we stop using coal and petroleum, even if we totally eliminate all internal combustion engines and fossil fuel fired power plants? How will we mine and refine the metals that are needed for wind generators and power lines? Is it possible to replace the diesel engines in all mining machinery with electric motors?
Seems to me a few people need to stop and THINK instead of reacting emotionally!
she'll end up with hurt feelings. just like that kid in Florida. 15 minutes of fame is running out. Maybe a 30 minute private meeting with Biden is warranted. sniff sniff...
What a drama queen! Too bad she hasn't been encouraged to be a child and enjoy the fun and simple life of just being a child. I have no idea what she said, I was so focused on her angry lethal looking expressions. Too many children today are drawn into politics and have formed opinions based on their parents or teacher's views. It seems the ability to reason and form your own opinion has gone by the wayside.
